Russian TV Presenter says Russia can turn the US into radioactive dust
 

In a news review programme on Sunday evening, the presenter - well known for his loyalty to the Kremlin - stood in front of a backdrop photograph of a nuclear bomb exploding.

"Russia is the only country in the world which has the capability of turning the United States into radioactive dust," he said.

And he was not joking.

And that is true, but also USA can do same to Russia, and that's why that will not happen.

When Russia was bring nuclear missiles to Cuba, USA was demand to remove it, because if they lunch it, Washington don't have time to lunch their nuclear missiles.

I very much dought it would come down to that either, but if Russia decided to take the whole of Ukrain there is not a thing the EU or the US could do about it and Russia knows this. Russia is laughing at the so called sanctions put in place by the US and EU and Russia could do far more harm to the UK and other EU countries if it wished to.

Russia certainly showed the US and the EU that they mean nothing and will do what ever they want if they wish to.

Look at the mess we have created in Iraq, Afganistan and Libya and look how peacefull it was done in Crimea. Putin certainly got the upper hand on this situation.

it's not the same because there are no nukes in Ukraine. Also, it's not the same because USA didn't invade Cuba after Russians installed nukes there.

No that was a different story. The States have placed the nukes in Turkey, right near the USSR border. Khrushchev has demanded Kennedy to remove them and got a negative answer. So he delivered nuclear missiles to Cuba. After that the problem was solved: Soviets have removed the nukes from Cuba and the USA did the same to their warheads in Turkey. That's all: mission accomplished :)

As about the Ukraine, so it's a bit different story. The most closer analogy is Kosovo.
