What TV series should we watch next?

I have Netflix and DirecTv . Just finished Breaking Bad (awesome!), and before that I have only watched all of Entoruage. I only have time for about 4 hours a week to watch tv so what should we watch next?

Sons of Anarchy?
House of cards?

Suggestions please...

Thanks, Mitch

I highly doubt it.

I just checked out Derek with Ricky Gervais. Looks pretty good. Heavy Queens English for this American but I can understand it pretty much.

Also check out An Idiot Abroad. His docu. checking out the 7 wonders. He sends his buddy off and just makes him do horrible shit. Good stuff.

Axeman 03-30-2014 09:26 PM

Any of the following are great choices.

1. House of Cards
2. Hell on Wheels
3. Sons Of Anarchy
4. Game of Thrones (if you got HBO on demand)

Cherry7 03-31-2014 01:42 AM

No, Derek.

It's worth watching, just throw away any preconceived ideas you have about the cast.

Mitch,
here you go. most have been said but we both know MY recommendations carry more weight. :) in order of greatness
1. Californication
2.Sons of Anarchy.......but walk away after the season 3 finale (its all down hill from there)
3. Vikings
4. Justified
5. The Incredible Dr. Pol :)

bronco67 03-31-2014 06:43 AM

House of Cards
The Killing

Sons of Anarchy is good, but if you binge watch you're going to see a basic pattern of lather, rinse, repeat. It's basically the same situations over and over again, with players and details changed a little. Somebody has a secret, and the wrong people will find out eventually, and some deal will go bad with nameless characters getting killed. But for some reason I still love it.

The first season of True Detective will go down in history as one of the best TV seasons ever.

if you just want something really fun, watch Spartacus. What an experience.

I just got Netflix too. I watched Breaking Bad - I was hooked in the first thirty seconds! - and then House of Cards. Now I am watching "How I Met Your Mother".

IS there any new SciFI series?

Why 04-01-2014 02:41 PM

i just finished the first season of the americans last week, it was decent.
orange is the new black is good, as is lillehammer
vikings is good too, not sure if its on netflix.

kane 04-01-2014 03:16 PM

Like others I highly recommend House of Cards.

If you want something different try Wilfred. It is on Netflix. It has Elijah Wood in it. He plays a former lawyer suffering from depression who lusts after his hot neighbor. One day after trying to kill himself she asks him to watch her dog. The catch is that he sees the dog as a guy in a dog costume so they sit around, smoke weed, talk about life and have crazy adventures. It is crazy, strange and oddly brilliant.

bhutocracy 04-01-2014 03:51 PM

The Wire, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, True Detective.. Those are basically top tier viewing after Breaking Bad. I guess I could add Deadwood to that for the dialogue.. Obviously Sopranos but I'm assuming everyone knows that. Mad Men too if you don't mind a slower pace.

Under that you probably have your Vikings, Treme (could be higher maybe but some people won't like it), Oz, Life on Mars (uk), Boardwalk Empire, Orange is the New Black (maybe lower?) and probably a bunch more and then you get down to your more schlocky stuff like Homeland, Trueblood, Lost, Dexter, Walking Dead etc etc.

I still have Sons of Anarchy and Justified on my "to watch" list. I haven't included any comedies but I own all of 30 Rock on dvd. There are your usual suggestions like Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parks and Rec etc. I liked what I saw of Californication but didn't watch somewhere past the second season... I would though if the whole series appeared on my hard drive. I'm trying to buy old series now on blu ray or dvd though so it might be a while before I decide to spend $100 on it. Firefly and Red Dwarf are both humorous sci fi shows.

I've probably missed a bunch.. this is just immediately off the top of my head.

TurboAngel 04-01-2014 05:27 PM

Orange is the new Black.

I thought Spy was hilarious. A Netflix original I think that only went a couple seasons but it's some funny shit.
