romeo22 04-15-2014 08:04 AM

I can't believe, there goes another great band in the history.

BlackCrayon 04-15-2014 08:12 AM

such a shame that they had to go out due to health issues and not on their own terms. i'm glad i got to see them on their last tour.

hottoddy 04-15-2014 08:19 AM

True, Malcolm is in the background but is a master rhythm player. As far as strokes go, I'm glad he's still doing relatively well. You never know, he may be ready to go again in a few years!

NETbilling 04-15-2014 08:54 AM

That sucks

TurboAngel 04-15-2014 09:06 AM

The only band I sat over night to get tickets for. I did have some great seats and the concert was the bomb.

SiMpLe 04-15-2014 09:09 AM

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo :(

Sinistress 04-15-2014 11:34 AM

This really sucks
and makes me realize im getting older too lol

All the classic bands are dying or retiring, the drug use and abuse they did to themselves during their heydays are finally catching up to them.

AC/DC rules so this is very sad news. But hey, maybe Malcolm will recover and they can reunite. Who knows.

pornmasta 04-15-2014 12:03 PM

41 year old, not bad for a band...

JA$ON 04-15-2014 12:06 PM

da da da.....da da da....da da da

:(

Tom_PM 04-15-2014 12:08 PM

Sad to hear. He's in his 60's right? Lots of people have strokes at that age. It's prime time. If he was a smoker then there you go pretty much..

AdultKing 04-15-2014 12:24 PM

AC/DC died with Bon Scott.

bronco67 04-15-2014 12:56 PM

They've been over for me since I graduated from the 8th grade.

SekobA 04-15-2014 01:03 PM

Too bad for Malcom young, but regardless, AC/DC should hang up their guitars

kane 04-15-2014 02:05 PM

They are one of the best live bands I have ever seen and they music is part of the soundtrack of my youth. Growing up in a small town driving around with the windows down on a Saturday night blasting Back in Black and Who Made Who I felt like I would live forever and could do anything.

Sad news. I hope he recovers and even if they never play together again he can continue to live a good life.

SilentKnight 04-15-2014 03:03 PM

I watched a docu-bio on the band not long ago - it was fascinating how Brian Johnson just stepped in and literally began coming up with the lyrics for Hells Bells at the studio mic (it was storming outside the studio and he was commenting on the storm with Mutt Lange through the lyrics).

Sid70 04-15-2014 03:24 PM

Finally?

The cannons they set off every 2 seconds at shows then they play "For those about to rock" will make you deaf for about a week.

I am glad to see they sold more albums than faggy Metallica.

JuicyBunny 04-15-2014 09:07 PM

What shit news... I wish them all the best. Love their music.

I remember sitting at a friends house listening to Hells Bell's at the pool side, drinking bacardi, vodka, gin concoctions with whatever juice and finger banging the latest hottie on a lawn chair in her bikini :thumbsup

the last time they were in montreal was 2009, i was there. they played at the olympic stadium. over 40,000 people there. i had never been to such a big concert, it was quite crazy. i had 4th row floor tickets but stupid me, i assumed it would no actual seating and so i sold those tickets and kept other ones i had that were row 18....what a bummer when i realized there were actual seats. though most people went were they wanted anyways. it was an awesome show though i almost died tryin to get on the subway after. it was so packed with people i couldn't breathe.

Spunky 04-16-2014 06:03 AM

Seen them back up Aerosmith just before they hit it big back in the 70's.blew them away

InfoGuy 04-16-2014 08:48 AM

Best wishes for Malcolm getting better. I had floor seats for AC/DC in Summer of 2009 when they did their Black Ice tour. They put on one incredible show and if they come to LA, I'm definitely getting tickets for their 40th anniversary tour. Long live AC/DC! :GFYBand

This is the official statement from the band's website.

UPDATE: AC/DC's frontman has addressed the swirling rumors that the famous band will soon be hanging up their guitars for retirement.

The Telegraph reports, Brian Johnson said the band is not breaking up and will still get together in May as previously reported.
I swear I get goosebumps (the good kind) almost every time I hear this song:

Hope it is not true, I would like to visit a concert, missed it last time

Tom_PM 04-16-2014 09:41 AM

Used to do Sin City and Highway to Hell in a garage band back before the Back in Black era. Saw them during the Back in Black tour and they were the loudest concert ever held at the local arena.

TurboAngel 04-16-2014 09:44 AM

Boy aren't we all old.

:(

llporter 04-16-2014 09:57 AM

AC/DC got me through high school... pray for Malcom to recover

CDSmith 04-16-2014 11:05 AM

Bands have to retire in order to later have a reunion tour. No way to make reunion tour bank without the token "we're done" announcments.

Just look at Motley Crue. This is going to be their *final* fairwell tour, after about half a dozen prior hiatuses, breakups and "retirements". ha.

AC/DC will be playing the MTS Center in 2020, mark my words. :D
