Forget the 90% on WF. It's the 10% that make it valuable.

The price paid was cheap for the immense value adding opportunities that can be exploited on that site and these value ads can be done without disrupting the current operation of the forum. It's a perfect fit for the buyer.

I can only imagine the sales pitch for it. Did they get upselled for some other sites too?

I don't think a valuable 10% exists on that forum. Perhaps 1% or less.

It's a very on-topic forum, but the discussions are too low level to retain legit web professionals. The forum is geared more towards people in their 40s to 60s that are not proficient with web technologies (and don't aspire to be). That probably explains why get rich quick scams are the central theme of WarriorForum.

One look at the banner ads at the top says enough. On most days it's nothing but get rich quick scams. Where are the banners for dedicated hosting, stock images, designers, affiliate programs, etc...??? Their user base doesn't buy that stuff. They buy "How to make $15,000 by the first of the month."

So that means this place is worth what?

well it depends on how many active users are viewing each day. Number of users dont mean a thing, its the traffic basically. Good business mind can monetize anything for a good profit margin, since its a forum and the resource it takes to maintain the site generally less than brick and mortar business, I guess it has a good chance to make more money than before. And forum is kinda outdated, who knows if the new taker will transfer the existing site to something like Linked or social type of thing and grow its user base from there, add more categories, add more contents, facelift it to a multi resource social type of site. I mean, 3.2 million if sold to a corporation is nothing really, it has too many good money making potentials.

Well by the way, I think its time for someone to buyout Freeones.com or later, the site is starting to die out and eventually become less value to potential buyer. Why buyout? is the pornstar archive and currently the massive content database. with a bit of touch up and transfer to a more updated web property, it will be the next hyper mega site.

I could be wrong of course, but it always seemed to me that place was full of nothing but get rich quick schemes and the idiots that gravitate towards them. I must have been mistaken. Kinda surprised it would sell for that much.

Exactly. They just sell all these "magic" books to each other. That's the only method they can make money with. As about the board, so its asking for money for every post in their analogue of the "Sell and Buy" forum.

I bet 90% of the ppl on that site can't even make a few hundred a month. I wasted years trolling that crap holy looking for answers. All I saw was a million automated 50k a month systems that all worked....righttttt

I spent some time there and became irritated very quickly. When I was first starting out I even fell for the "War Room" membership for $29 or so and bought into the hype. 5 Mins later I left it and never went back feeling like I was taken for a ride.

The place bans people quickly who expose any kind of truth and they are all high fiving each other over the magic books that CyberSEO talked about above.

There is little there of value to a surfer but it will make good money from naive newbs.

With the way things work over there I wouldn't be surprised if the sale price were bullshit meant to inflate the perceived value of the forum.

Didn't some guys from there come over here to try to sell some ad on tube sites software or strategy? I remember being surprised that even though some of the tube bros tried to go to bat for them it mostly fell flat. It was a real lulz type moment seeing GFY turn into Warrior forum for a moment or two though. :)

Don't get me wrong there is some good info hidden there but much of it is people trying to sell their "get rich quick method" for $30.

Notorious for that, but not only that. And it does not matter much if ebooks sold there would be quality or "get rich quick", it matters that money is being generated there.

I seriously do not understand people who are claiming the price is too high. It is as if they do not have any vision how that forum is money making machine, especially with certain upgrades.

there are a ton of ways for the owner of that forum to make $$$ 3.2 does not seem all that high.

My view on that (or any business) is that value matters a great deal over the long term. If it was a massive community full of useful people and useful discussions and a great place to learn specific topics then there is value there. If its just "get rich quick" schemes, which have no value then i think that fickle crowd can easily flee and go anywhere. The "get rich quick schemes" all have time limits. Just as most of the information there, has an expiration date... where sites, links, images etc are dead in most discussions.

I think forums are super tricky to run. GFY was once among the largest forums online.... let a few idiots in, ban a few of the wrong people and you totally upset the dynamics and unwittingly throw things into a tailspin... as GFY has done many times as they drove it into the ground. Of course mainstream is not the same as this industry and other factors also helped run this place into the ground.

It's hard to imagine a forum having much value (for me anyway)... or methodically increasing that value over time in what is really a fickle environment... but likely the value really depends on how the new owners intend to monetize the traffic. It might be a great deal for someone with an affiliate network or product that can benefit from that crowd.
