you aren't a beef jerky fan? LA is where I discovered beef jerky at 12 years old - it took another 20 years for it to get up here. most of the jerky up here is not good.

Sashimi screw the rice.
try this sometime 1 ripe avacodo slice and chop it, set aside 1/2 lb sashimi grade bluefin tuna (ahi) sliced and chopped to the tuna add about 1 tsp sesame oil. 1 tblsp green onion tops (finely chopped), 1 tsp garlic paste mix well and set aside fry 8-10 won ton wrappers until golden brown set on paper towels and lightly salt take 2, 8-12 ounce glasses with straight sides (no curves) and rub the insides with sesame oil. lightly pack pack half the tuna mixture into each glass then lightly pack the avacodo on top of the tuna mixture turn the glasses over onto 2 salad plates drizzle with aji pon (lemon soy sauce) and top off with fresh grated ginger (about a teaspoon) fried wonton chips on the side its easy, incredibly delicious and itll get ya laid ;) |

Ask me that 2 1/2 years ago...and you would have gotten a totally different answer, with regard to favorite as far as frequency.
Deep down, it's pizza...but I probably do that about 1/6 of the frequency now, if that. |

Personally, me I like with Tabasco. In the morning, it's sausage with huevos and tobasco - the peppers and tomatoes have to be fresh and cold-chopped. Corn with Tabasco - the best. New Orleans/Louisiana food - from fancy French Quarter stuff to white trash and dirty rice cooking... Steaks - with red wine and mushrooms in any form. As long as there's mushrooms. Tacos - the real kind or the west-coast-california kind... Tacos! Marcos & Pepe's here in Montreal have a great red (tomato?) rice that is amazing. The belgian fries from the restaurant "Frites Alors!" In the US south, the chain Popeye's has excellent rice & beans... Speaking of the South... the "soul food" available almost in any smallish city is awesome. Pho Bang New York in Montreal, the only place I've tasted perfect Tonkinese soup (they even bring fresh basil and coriander). Speaking of coriander, most small towns in Mexico's baja peninsula have the most insanely incredible salsa I've ever had. Florida: cuban sandwiches! Montreal's portugeuse community: chicken sandwiches with the fat and skin included. Montreal: Smoked Meat! Montreal: Poutine! Montreal: Smoked-Meat Poutine! Ethiopian round-table meals with injera bread! Montreal: BAGELS! Vietnamese spring and imperial rolls... Pesto! The real kind, with pine nuts and basil and ... drool... so hard to find it done right. Goat, beef or chicken Roti, the best in Montreal being at the Carribean Roti House on Victoria. Butter Chicken! Nan bread! Ahhh... too much must stop! |
