Here's an interesting theory on how buying legitimate ads (through Facebook sponsored posts) can actually REDUCE engagement and hurt your page in the long run.

If what the video hypothesizes is halfway true, then it's a vicious cycle. You sponsor a post so more people see it, but that results in your garbage likes growing, which reduces the engagement on your next post; you then need to spend even more sponsoring that next post, so the same number of humans/real accounts will see it.

FB isn't going to be in a hurry to filter something that's making them big bickies.

For anyone who doesn't believe this video, just grab a Facebook ads coupon and get some free ads. This video is spot on. The most valuable way to engage people with a Facebook page is valuable content elsewhere which links to your Facebook page when is then liked by real people.
