Former F1 champion Michael Schumacher has left a Swiss hospital to continue his recovery at home, his manager says.

She said in a statement there was "a long and difficult road ahead".

The ex-F1 champion suffered a head injury in a skiing accident in France last December and has been in the Swiss hospital since June.

Schumacher's family in June announced that he was no longer in the medically induced coma he was placed in to reduce swelling in his brain.
good for him :thumbsup

so who are those on here that wanted to pull the plug on him???

Scott McD 09-09-2014 06:29 AM

Every F1 race i watch these days, i always think of Schumi !!

As has been said, a long difficult road ahead, but here's hoping he makes a good recovery, and can live as normal as life as possible...

Choopa_Pardo 09-09-2014 06:59 AM

Always think about Schumi.

I hated him when he was a driver, but I am thrilled to see he's making some progress towards recovery.

Jman 09-09-2014 07:00 AM

Great news for Schumi, hope he makes a full recovery

sperbonzo 09-09-2014 07:05 AM

I still would. It's no life being stuck in a bed kept alive by machines.

and you know he is on machine support because...

ottopottomouse 09-09-2014 08:31 AM

Because they have never made any further progress announcement since taking him out of the coma.

Great News ! I hope to see him soon on tv in a decent shape !

fitzmulti 09-09-2014 12:42 PM

Hopefully, he'll get to where he can be comfortable...as comfortable as possible.
I always had respect for him & his success, regardless of me being "sick of him winning all the time"...{Kinda like Jimmie Johnson having 6 Sprint Cup championships...}...but, you have to have respect and wish the best for Schumi, just as a person.

So what was the announcement precisely and why didn't you include it in your post? All I see is that he is no longer in coma but that is June old news:

I understand the family wants it to be private, however he's been a such public person that at the very minimum they should tell us at least what kind of sequels he'll stay with

Penny24Seven 09-09-2014 04:24 PM

"We ask the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculation about his state of health is avoided."

I would guess he is a veggie still, I mean why not say one word that he is awake or knows anything

LeRoy 09-09-2014 04:47 PM

Tough to recover from a serious head injury. Probably a long road ahead.

Drake 09-09-2014 05:16 PM

Hope he makes a full recovery!

John-ACWM 09-10-2014 07:03 AM

Hope for better and better news in the future.

michael.kickass 09-10-2014 08:17 AM

Sooo happy 4 him
