sponsor removes a site without notifying it's affiliates
 

is that considered ok ?

by notifying I mean that an email would be nice.

not ok of course, happened with nichedsites and their milf sites back in the day as well.

Super not okay, especially if there is no redirect to keep affiliates paid.

I've searched in all the their newsletters they sent and found nothing about this.

I went through a blog I've had since 2005. From 2005 to about 2010 it received as many as for posts per day. I was blown away by all of the sites that were no longer up or were redirected to something else that didn't pay me. Wrote a script to switch out links on the blog and all others I own. Probably around 100 sites and thousands of links for all of them so far.

get what added ? a note about the site that was closed ?

Unacceptable, but it happens all the time. Too often actually.

A lot of things are unacceptable in adult industry yet they happen anyway

I wish you'd answer emails though...

The only reason I believe anyone would do this is because said site hasn't converted AT ALL for a significant period of time so redirecting would only be done to aid things, not to mess with people. Pulling it and making it a dead link without notification is not cool though of course.

lol at affiliates. affiliate is great if you are in bnagladesh or bombay where 200 bucks a month is baller shit. how many of you players here pretend like you have traffic? pretty much all. no one care about affiliates any more. get over it.

There is a difference between pulling a tour and redirecting affiliate clicks coming into that site to another compatible site versus just pulling a site and keeping all that traffic.

The first is going to happen and it's OK, the second is really not something that should happen without notice.

or you got to love the sponsors who bury it somewhere in a boring newsletter

I've had to take sites down from my Network over the years. Depending on the site, like whether it's a "bonus" site or one that a lot of affiliates "worked", I will send out an email. But affiliates never OPEN sponser emails remember, so I can see how maybe some notifications could get lost or swept into junk mail.

good sponsors, send the email with a significant title telling you already in title what's happening
