Scammed by member of this forum
Hiya everyone.
I just wanted to let people know I was scammed by "thumbuilderic" on this forum after I approached him to work on a custom script for one of my websites & sent him 650$ for a custom tgp/tube script. I wanted him to do more work for me if the script turned out good but turns out he has vanished for months. :( I have sent him countless emails to try and contact him. I seen his twitter page twitter/erickeyte and he is tweeting so he is ignoring my emails. his site is thumbuilder. just hope this helps someone out that is looking for custom work from him. have a GREAT weekend everyone! :-)! |

Ya sucks he scammed me like that. :< He had a simple script for sale on the forum and I wanted him to add bunch of options on it. I must have emailed him 200 times talking about the script and options I wanted. So much time wasted.
Now I went with mechbunny & zuzana-designs.:-) |
Bump...dickhead needs eyeballs.

Finally - red flags are important and one of them is simply communication. Added to that when it comes to scripts etc. be willing to pay 1/2 up front - then 1/2 on completion. That is how the pro's do it... if not then you'll loose your money and there is no reason for them to finish the project. |
I read ICQ and then I checked the date of the thread...

When dealing with custom jobs, it's essential to establish a payment structure that ensures both parties are protected and satisfied with the outcome. One approach that has proven effective for us at https://www.2much.net is to divide the payment into milestones or stages, providing transparency and accountability throughout the project.
For smaller jobs, it's advisable to request a 50% down payment and the remaining 50% upon completion. If you are looking for a small project, expect to pay this. This approach allows you, as the customer, to ensure that the vendor delivers the expected results before making the full payment. On the other hand, for larger and more complex projects, it's beneficial to work out a payment schedule that aligns with the project timeline. For example, if the estimated duration of the project is six weeks, I strongly suggest that you consider making periodic payments at weekly intervals, tied to the completion of specific milestones. This approach not only enables you to keep track of progress but also allows for necessary adjustments or course-corrections along the way. By implementing such a payment structure, you create a win-win situation for both parties involved. It fosters a sense of trust, keeps the vendor accountable, and ensures your satisfaction as the customer. Remember, clear communication and mutually agreed-upon terms are key to successful project completion. If you are looking for someone to build something special for you, please feel free to contact me. |
