Just basically items moving around in front of both of them. Appliances turning on and off all the time. Footsteps heading upstairs etc.

Sounds like that they are crazy. Or they think that you are into that shit and they try to sell their house to you.

Do you believe in their honesty?

NatalieK 11-27-2014 01:16 PM

We've had bangs, knocks & creaks, not your usual house movements before. Lots of strange spooky stuff. We're trying to locate a video we took one night, spoken in a thread from about a month ago.
Shall see what we can do, must be on the laptop somewhere :2 cents:

Death is some form of dimensional gateway and as with all doors some mother fuckers will be too fat to fit.

Jel 11-27-2014 03:39 PM

intelligent life of *some* sort in the universe is pretty much accepted by the same people who dismiss the idea there could be *some* form of intelligence in a way we can't really comprehend as mental illness, despite the same amount of proof for either. Work that one out then :-)

izombie 11-27-2014 04:50 PM

I used to work in an office with a bunch of superstitious middle aged women who were obsessed with the Ghost Hunter type TV shows, and they would try over and over to convince me that ghosts were real. Sometimes they would ask me if I heard strange noises in my house at night, and I would say yes and lead them on with my spooky story and they would get all excited and then I would reveal that it was either my cat or the Loch Ness Monster asking for tree fiddy.

I doubt they would know what Mensa is.

Taken the test and passed, but never did join btw. Typical IQ test, nothing special.

I know someone who owns an old Asylum. It's supposedly one of the most haunted places in the US.

Scott, in all seriousness I will tell you now "spirits" both good and bad really do exist. If you need help understanding this, I will share with you what I have come to know first hand, off the board. :2 cents:

Ask them if they can shoot a video. If they do and you see anything please let me know. We'll include it on one of our dvd anthologies for a video rental chain here.

Let me know if you can shoot any videos of the place. Just has to be scary not necessarily haunted for real.

As a kid i did do the ouija board stuff with a glass turned upside down. Did it for about 6 times, worked every time. Did it with 4 kids and the glass really did move. I still wonder how that works. Stopped doing it though, was like opening the gateway to whatever it was into my life;-).

Freax 11-28-2014 03:22 AM

Since I traveled around asia I thinking different about such things. Never say no. But maybe not everything will be ghosts.

it's not a coincidence that you need a group of people to do that...

The glass kind of like 'hovered' over the table, like Airhockey.
Is it the combined energy of people, or what?

What are you referring to?

Nope not that deep - it's always someone bullshitting the others.

Even though I like to be as sceptic as you are, that just isn't/wasn't possible. As stated it kind of was like an airhockey puck. No way you can do that if there's 3 others touching a glass. It would just fall over.

That is just my experience though.

That post should be taken out and shot.

Done it too, scared the living shit out of me.

Some scientific theories about how it works can be found on Wikipedia. I'm usually a skeptic, but those still sound quite far-fetched to me. However, I'm not an expert in a field so I don't really have anything to back that up with.

Wait, so you're supposed to touch the glass?!?! None of us were touching it while it was moving... :eek2

17 years ago for me. But yeah, we never touched the glass while it was moving.

Ross 11-28-2014 06:57 AM

My dad swears he saw a ghost when he was in his late teens. He was at a party at his friends house, his grandma who lived there had died 1-2 years before, my dad says he saw the lady walk by a doorway in the kitchen. I dismiss it, he said he wasn't drunk but I'm pretty sure an 18 year old guy at a house party was drunk. To this day he still believes he saw that.

Maybe he really wasn't drunk. But he didn't say he wasn't on any other drugs, did he? :1orglaugh

Were you using the Hasbro Ouija Board that you can buy at Toys R Us for $19.99 or was it a different, special kind of Ouija Board?

carpocratian 12-01-2014 01:16 AM

No, most of my friends aren't superstitious and know how to apply Occam's Razor to their experiences.

Zeiss 12-01-2014 02:43 AM

Prepare a bucket full of $$$ and I will fly over to fix it.

Not sure if that was even around back then.

We used scabble letters or we cut paper and put it in a circle.

He's Scottish, he needs no other criteria to be drunk :)

why? my point is that whenever someone says eg there is no other intelligent life in the universe, the 'clever' people chime in with how despite zero proof of it, it *must* exist, and it'd be 'arrogant' to assume we are the only ones here. Yet get a thread like this, and all the 'clever' people chime in with how it's retarded to think there could possibly be any form of *something* that exists.

that *something* doesn't necessarily need to be ghosts, just like intelligent life elsewhere needn't be little green aliens (and just like 'god' needn't be a man in the clouds).

My 'work that one out then' sentence relates to how it baffles me that people can keep an open mind about one thing, despite zero proof, and also understand that advanced intelligence may be wildly different to anything we imagine, yet those same people have completely closed minds and concepts about what 'ghosts' or 'god' is/are and instead choose to assume everyone thinks that the *something* has to be an old dude in the clouds with a long white beard, or casper the friendly ghost :upsidedow

I wasn't arguing against your point. What I meant by that was that it made my head spin, trying to make sense of it due to the way it was formulated. :)

Phoenix 12-01-2014 09:13 AM

One time i got spooked because i saw a light or a shape move across a door when i was working late at night. Then i clued in that it happened each time a car drove by at night with their lights on. the light bounced off a couple glass doors and made it's way to the door i was at. Ninja lights.

I am guessing most unexplained ghost stories are also easily explained by logic if you really wanted to figure it out.

47 haunted houses and 5 idiotic tags

RTP 12-02-2014 09:21 PM

i believe.

we had a haunted office once and literally broke the lease to get out of it (5,000+ sq ft).

no one would believe me until we went around all the offices and looked behind the pictures ...small child hand prints were burnt into the wall behind the pictures.

TheSquealer 12-02-2014 09:36 PM

Funny how there are endless shows and reality shows and "paranormal investigators" and they can never find any evidence whatsoever that holds up to scientific scrutiny and can never produce convincing evidence at all. Kinda like insisting bigfoot is "out there, somewhere" and for some strange reason, all the technology, helicopters, infrared night vision and "investigators" and "trackers" just can't seem to find anything.
