They aren't.

Several years ago, I don't know for sure. I was let go (laid off, not really fired) before it all hit the fan. Dave told me many times that everything was cool and not to worry but when they cut my pay in half I knew better. Apart from that Dave was always cool with me.

Why do you still have CyberAge in your signature?

Because I am too lazy to change it. Plus, it serves as a reminder of the good old days.

Mostly I helped their newbie web masters, newsletters, ran their message board, simple stuff like that.

I'm curious as to why a person would be motivated to make such a random announcement, years after the fact, for no apparent reason and interestingly still have the links in his sig (commenting that it was sentimental and not about trying to distance himself from that company).

This seems very much like a drug or alcohol induced post or,... something darker.
