Did you know the DMCA cover's your car's ECU?
 

Just read this article over on Wired. I had no idea that the DMCA actually made it illegal to modify a car's ECU. Otherwise known as tuning the computer which is a very common thing people often do.

If any manufacturer wanted to they could go after any of the countless companies that offer up tuning software, chips ect..ect.

There is a group trying to have that portion of the DMCA rewritten to make it "legal" to turn your car, before a manufacturer decides to go down that route..

that's insane. once you buy a car, you can do everything you want coz you already paid for it.

Sounds great. How can I profit from this?
