First fight back for both guys in a long time. I did not expect fireworks. Silva looked good enough to compete again. I am amazed he was even bothering. He was careful with his money and is set for life. He did not need to do this.

I think Diaz was pretty much the fighter he is. Consistent and annoying. Silva seemed like he was giving 80% of himself. After 13 months off, he should have gave a little more of himself.

When you have two fighters who are half fighting and half fucking with each others head, it's hard to have an explosive fight from either person. They are spending too much time thinking, and not enough time fighting.

Silva - a striker, fought a smart fight against a very good striker after not taking any fights for a long time and coming off a career ending injury. It would have been a much better fight without all the stalling bullshit and antics from Diaz.

Definitely. That's why I hate Silva so much. His stupid show boating. Diaz was giving what Silva has given so much in the past. Exactly what got his ass knocked out with Weidman. You'd think these guys would learn.

At the end of the day, it's show business. The antics and the personalities and conflicts between fighters fill seats. Silva does what he does to bait people to attack where he can effectively counter. Diaz does what he does because he is a shithead :)

Fighting is a very tricky chess match. When you have two guys who have similar strengths, it's likely going to get weird because each side has to frustrate the other into making mistakes

Silva did well against a smart striker. I want to see if he is really coming back. He used to be the best so who doesn't want to see him at a high level.

I'm curious too. That was a pretty traumatic injury for him. Just leaning to trust it again to kick effectively for most, would require more therapists than trainers. I've had injuries that have taken me years to get past.

I train Muay Thai 3hrs a day, 5 days a week and at 220lbs have pretty vicious kicks. I can't imagine being able to trust my leg and kick with that kind of force if I broke both bones and experienced that kind of pain as he did.

Anderson did what he had to do to come back after a gruesome leg injury and get a win last night. I had a feeling that it was going to look like a sparring session or exhibition match and go all five rounds. I think Anderson is going to take some time off now and possibly retire finally. If he really wants to fight again, I think the best outcome in terms of a payday and big fight would be if GSP decides to come back and they finally make that superfight.
