OwnCloud/GoogleDrive/OneDrive/DropBox...

What do you use and why?

myleene 02-17-2015 11:25 PM

None. For security concerns.

I use my own FTP.

oppoten 02-17-2015 11:33 PM

ABG (anything but google).

I use Dropbox, because I integrate it with other services. But I do have concerns about it.

I have recruiters submit via ...wait who are you? On my phone can't see avatar or profile via mobile

Amazon.com: usb flash drive encrypted

^ the safest thing for you to do would be to grab a couple of these. keep one near your computer and another in a safe in your home

keep them both synced with recent data at least bi-monthly or as often as you deem necessary

Pad 02-18-2015 12:00 AM

if you do go the dropbox route keep everything password encrypted in a .rar with an incredibly long and convoluted password

Microsoft OneDrive is giving out free 100GB for 2 years, so now I have a 115GB OneDrive account for free :)

MPGdevil 02-18-2015 01:16 AM

OneDrive. Unlimited storage with Office 365 subscription. I also use CrashPlan for backup.

I use owncloud for home/personal. It requires some tech knowledge to setup/get started, but other than that it's not much different than dropbox. With the exception that the files are stored on your server. The paid app for android or iphone is well worth the 5 bucks or whatever I paid. You can also get an app called "photosync" for iphone that syncs up your photos to your owncloud server from the phone, so no more icloud backup and the wife watching photos stream in from an event! ;)

It's $0.99 for Android. I think they might even have a free version. I'm really liking owncloud now.

All of the above, and a few more. :1orglaugh

Damn! I was raped then for the iOS app! :1orglaugh Still a great app though and one of my favorites!

spideroak - for security reasons ;-)

I had tried OwnCloud for our organisation but it really didn't work. There were lot of complications and we spend more time in making the script work before giving up.

I would personally prefer Google Drive.

Amazon S3 for big files and permanent archives...
Dropbox for smaller things, sharing files with F&F...

djroof 02-19-2015 02:19 PM
