better antivirus? avast vs norton

which antivirus is better? or which you guys suggest to use?

jk2013 02-18-2015 01:15 PM

Im using 360 about a year. It is free and fast. From Norton and Avast maybe Avast is better.

Scott McD 02-18-2015 01:15 PM

Been using Kaspersky for 3 years now...

izombie 02-18-2015 01:17 PM

I've been using Avira for last couple of months, its pretty good but seems to be a real memory hog especially on my netbook.

url of 360 ?

Eset Nod Antivir, works just fine for me. Norton is well known for sucking your computer resources dry. Even on a high end system.
Don't know much about avast

Not so - Norton is great and has a very small footprint and using hardly any system resources at all. You must be referring to an experience from years ago because it has not been that way for at least 6 years.

My recommendation would be Norton Internet Security with out hesitation. :thumbsup

Vendzilla 02-18-2015 01:50 PM

New laptop came with webroot, so far liking it

aka123 02-18-2015 01:52 PM

I use F-Secure.

Not editor's choice, but..

" Bottom Line

F-Secure Anti-Virus 2015 skips the bells and whistles, instead focusing solely on antivirus protection. If that's the kind of tool you're looking for, it can be a very good choice."

Kaspersky or die

Eugenum 02-18-2015 03:10 PM

I am happy with Kaspersky.

aka123 02-18-2015 03:21 PM

Kaspersky seems to be good, but I am a little bit concerned it being Russian.

F-Secure being Finnish (as am I), I don't think that they will make that much backdoors to back up Finnish world domination plans (as there isn't any). Russian and USA companies are quite a bit question mark.

That has not been true for years, like 10

Yngwie 02-18-2015 03:59 PM

I use avast and have been for years.

ZeroHero 02-18-2015 04:02 PM

From those two, i choose avast :)

anexsia 02-18-2015 04:31 PM

I bought a license for ESET Smart Security off of Amazon for $12, couldn't be happier, fucking ESET rocks!

ESET Smart Security & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium & Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit & Sandboxie is what I use on my Windows 7 Workstation

I second that. Norton sucks, McAfee too. Best antivir, however, is your brain. Be careful with attachments, update your system frequently, use an adblock, flashblock, whateverblock...

Spunky 02-18-2015 06:39 PM

Tried Kaspersky and had a terrible support experience.been using Norton 360 for a few years now and I like it

freecartoonporn 02-18-2015 11:17 PM

ErectMedia 02-18-2015 11:56 PM

Used Kaspersky for many years, dumped it few years ago for...

Anti Virus Software

Doubt I'll ever change. :2 cents:

RyuLion 02-19-2015 12:03 AM

Norton hands down, have been using it for 10+ years. It has saved my ass and I've made $$ using it to cleaning other PC..

guden 02-19-2015 12:56 AM

Kaspersky all the way!

CustomBusinessSoftware 02-19-2015 01:57 AM

Darkcrni 02-19-2015 01:59 AM

will it work with windows8?

Black All Through 02-19-2015 03:47 AM

Norton will lag any computer. I've had AVG for 3 years paid version on one PC and the free version on another and they both do very well.

Paul&John 02-19-2015 06:21 AM

Used Avast then got a shitty virus, so on ESET NOD32 now ;)

Paz 02-19-2015 06:25 AM

Errr... Microsoft Security Essentials anyone....?

I'm not downloading exe's or warez and I don't open pdf's or docs sent to me by email but it's blitz quick and unobtrusive.

God I can feel the heat coming already..... haha

Loka 02-19-2015 07:32 AM

AVG and Norton, both are good.

GFED 02-19-2015 10:20 AM

Don't need antivirus. It's a waste of system resources.

CustomBusinessSoftware 02-19-2015 10:36 AM

AVG is not good

The Porn Nerd 02-19-2015 10:50 AM

Avast sucks ASS people. We had a virus on one of my sites 1.8 YEARS ago and Avast still shows a warning. Fucked up. Go with Norton.

thank you for the link

Look Chang 02-20-2015 09:22 AM

I use AVG on all comps and phones of the house for years without any problem ☺

dready 02-20-2015 01:08 PM

I'd highly recommend installing MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit free edition, on top of whatever AV solution you decide on. :2 cents:

SekobA 02-20-2015 01:14 PM

I have used avast and it was working fine

MPGdevil 02-20-2015 04:57 PM

Norton Internet Security.
If your computer lags it's because it's filled with shit or 10 years old.

marlboroack 02-22-2015 02:50 PM

Avg ftw:)

i am just uninstalling this stupid shit from my computer. after years of using it, it is a real pain in ass with their fucking shitty updates, doing any time at the day, doing for few minutes, taking all my fucking memory, this shit needs to go off my pc asap, otherwise my whole cd will go out of the window ... oh man, avira, fucking shit program!!! :2 cents: uninstall it now or you will get nervous very soon, fucked up upgrades ... :2 cents:

signupdamnit 02-23-2015 07:25 AM

Linux.

Windows Defender is probably the best free one.

+1

Also look into rkill, rouguekiller, and combofix from bleepingcomputer for cleaning things up after an infection.
