Tablets

Do you use them.

If so what do you find is best?

I just ordered a cheap windows 8.1 tablet.

I was fed up of taking a laptop with me. So I thought a cheap windows 8.1 so I can run the same softwear.

And a "cheap" one too, at that.

CPA-Rush 02-22-2015 09:39 AM

galaxy..

Sly 02-22-2015 09:46 AM

I had an ASUS Windows 7 tablet, I needed Windows 7 to take advantage of a few particular applications. Overall, I found it far too slow. So much so that I did not enjoy it, it was just a pain in the ass collecting dust. I traded it for an iPad 2.

SIK 02-22-2015 11:44 AM

I'm planning to get one, since I got iPhones all around my family, it will probably be an iPad

The Porn Nerd 02-22-2015 12:51 PM

Samsung has the best tablets, IMHO. Their screens are the brightest and crispest, too. All my monitors, tvs and smartphones (and tablets) are Samsung.

Fanboy? Maybe. OL

femdomdestiny 02-22-2015 01:25 PM

Asus...for navigation, calendar, news,weather,e-mails ....and I can't browse GFY because APP is problematic and there is no tapatalk option for GFY

SBJ 02-22-2015 09:29 PM

after my 1st gen iPad became so outdated I broke down and bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S and love it. :thumbsup

Loka 02-22-2015 09:45 PM

I am using Google Nexus 7 2012 Tablet (Wi-Fi, 32 GB) since a year and never had any problems with it. Updates are very often, I think I am running Android version 5 at this time.

The only issue I see is the battery which is now giving up in a day or two.

Gerco 02-22-2015 10:52 PM

Hard to say whats best for you without knowing what you already have. It would be safe to say you should stick to whatever eco system you have already bought into.

For example, I like the iPad. It's good, has a high build quality and it's eco system allows me to buy something once and share it across all my various devices. This is good because I own an iPad 2, 3 iPad minis for my kids, a I pad mini with cellular for myself, Run a iMac, a mac book pro and and apple TV. Everything works together seamlessly. If your an android fan, I'm sure the same is true, or even a windows fan, but I can not say as I have not used those eco systems as deeply as I do apples.

djroof 02-23-2015 10:14 AM

I prefer my smartphone than a tablet... for e-mails, surfing etc.

crockett 02-23-2015 12:57 PM

I have a iPad mini which is a great size for a tablet but WiFi range sucks on it.

I also have a Samsung Galaxy note pro which is a very nice tablet, but keeping it's battery charged sucks. It's also a bit big as just a tablet, but works nice as a mini laptop.

I'm selling both and buying a windows surface. The advantage of a windows tablet like the surface pro is you can run photoshop on it and use it like a Wacom tablet.

pornguy 02-23-2015 02:50 PM

I have a samsung 10.1 yeah its big but when traveling its the easiest to type on and see the screen. Also makes a great reader and can watch movies on it.

This version happens to have a built in phone so I am ULTRA cool holding that fucker to my head.

( I dont have to hold it up as it has great speakers but I do for effect. ) hehehe

Tablets are pointless, buying a fast lookalike car without the engine

dumbest response I've read today and that is saying something for GFY :1orglaugh

A tablet is not a laptop or desktop replacement. They are great for surfing the web from bed. Great for checking your emails whenever you are away from your desk. They are great in the kitchen for recipes and mixed drink recipes. They are great to use on the couch while watching tv or mirroring your tablet to your tv to watch vids. I read and listen to music on mine daily.

Now you say what's the difference from a smartphone? My phone is only used as a phone at home and for txting. I don't want to look at a 5" screen for surfing at home when I have a 10.5 tablet and a 23" LED display for my office. Phones are great for outside the home and sometimes I use my phone to give wifi to my tablet or laptop on vacation where wifi isn't available.

You might not think you need or want a smartphone, tablet, and PC/laptop but to me it makes every part of my day complete.

So do I.

My kid was all after me to buy her a XBox. I can't afford that huge machine so I got her a tab. Now she is more than happy to download and play games.

shake 02-23-2015 08:34 PM

iPads are great, though in my house we've moved to the Nexus line of phones and tablets. Samsung is okay too.

Update:

I got a cheap one.

Linx 7 7" IPS Microsoft Windows 8.1 Tablet

I was expecting it to run slow.

I was shocked to find its almost as fast as my laptop.

Spent a few hours changing settings and getting software onto it.

I am getting a keyboard for it.

I am going to use it as a tiny laptop.

I did not like taking my laptop around, just in case I broke it.

If I break this, it will not be the end of the world.

So far, its much better than I expected.

To be honest if I did not want to edit pics and vids, I could probably just use this as my main pc.

But so far happy.

I was expecting it to be very very very slow. Yet running faster than expected.

Why ask what tablet is best after ordering one?
