app gurls - input noob making first mobile app

lets say a mobile noob (aka me)
is contemplating making their first mobile site/app whats best to start with.

A mobile web platform or an actual ios or droid app.

Whats pros and cons of each option?

ofc I mean beyond ios and droid apps each only serving one set of users.

Android is a lot easier and faster to get listed. IOS has more users, lots of tweaking to get it accepted.

Doing it as a mobile site within a browser app is easiest.

You will not learn how to code a mobile app on your own. It is not that simple and it won't happen. It would take you perhaps two months just to get the gist of coding on either platform.

I would say that depends more on programming experience, I more or less got my head around android studio (by no means mastered it, just figured out more or less how it all ties together) in a few hours. I've got a long way to go with it but it's not THAT complicated.

I just switched to Android Studio from Eclipse. Android Studio is pretty much IntelliJ. But I like it better than Eclipse. I debug with my Samsung Tablet. You can get a "hello world" program up pretty quick. Beyond that, I don't know.

I'm working on my first game now using the LibGDX framework. There are some new tutorials that are just now starting up that are really helping me. Relearning some geometry now. Finally got a tank to turn and shoot in the direction that I want. Next I want to add moving spiders/targets. Then on to collisions.

I don't think I will make any money at all at this. But it is fun, Once you get something working.

How many apps have you developed and submitted to either Google or Apple?

I'm gonna guess none.
