Offers no protection against fire, water hazard or other risks as-is.

Add off-site backups to that and it's perfect.

dvd and cd (those you burn yourself) starts to become unstable/unreadable after a year for low quality media. worse media ever for backups

SuzzyQ 03-15-2015 02:37 PM

External HD. They are small enough to carry around and cheap.

I'm a "save as" man myself.

I use a pen and paper to sketch copies of my photo content in case I loose the originals. Feel free to use that tip on wouj

wow awesome idea! I wonder if StickFigureTeens.com is available?

I backup my laptop weekly onto a external drive and I have a older drive that I backup once a month for a 3rd copy.

i use an actual time machine. When something happens i hop in it and go back 1 day.

I am partial the the keyboard method Ctrl+s

SSD RAID in a fire protected data center would be best.

i back up my hd to external hd but for personal pictures i keep the sd cards (i don't erase and use them again when they're full) and also back up to these. gets expensive though..

DVTimes.... an external hard drive is a good way to go. I also back-up via Dropbox to my laptop so I have two backups for my most important files.

Also, Amazon Glacier is an extremely cheap way to back-up if you want to go to the cloud.
