getting new domain - help needed
 

i am buying new domain name.,

my main motive is to get free traffic from google.,

so which is better.

lets say its a 2 word keyword.

e.g. best potatoes

so which domain should i buy ? i am not lloking for branding, only looking for google love/traffic.

obvously bestpotatoes.com is taken.


1) planetpotatoes.com

2) bestpotatoes.io

3) bestpotatoes.to

Accourding to Matt Cutts it does not matter anymore,but i would go with keyword domain and a .com,even withy a hypen in it:2 cents:

If I do a google search it may be

Where can I get the best potatoes? Who has the best potatoes? etc

If litteral: The word 'best' is a stop word = useless.

I would try a new gTLD and go for the third word (the extention's name). I commented in another thread that a .zone I bought as an experiment got page 2 serps on the words in that name with the TLD string added into the search ... i.e.; [word] [word] zone.

I am not suggesting that exact gTLD, 'zone' is branding TLD (maybe). However, something more generic and commonly used might work. You also might want to consider that third word as a sub-domain name too.

.com is only important for type-ins and its predominance may be declining, IMHO.
Hyphens may not matter so much in a EMD (SEO) name.

mate nothing like free traffic form google exists, you must work on seo to have the site listed on nice spots, domain means almost nothing :2 cents: if you buy potatoes.club, or potatoes.photos, you can have nice serps with them :winkwink: have luck :)

I agree, stick with keywords and go with a .com, but I would only go with a hyphen .com if the domain is just for bringing traffic over from SE's.

Any other extension away from .com will need marketing $$$ to brand that other domain extension. Currently were still programed to think .com

But I think down the line for adult your going to need an adult extension, its a no brainier that this is were heading. .xxx, .porn, .adult not sure what the others are but this is going to .sucks

damn i am more confused now.
ihave worked many months for this project so it gotta be brand-able domain , but brand takes more time to grow ., while EMD are good for fast traffic., but as matt cutt said EMD are not that important , but i dont believe him.,

Personally I dig keyword .coms. The few brandable domains I own/broker are keyword brandables as I prefer brandables to still contain the main subject keyword. Done well selling both types of these domains over the last 12 years or so. :2 cents:

New TLDs suck. Don't believe all the misinformation disseminated by Matt Cutts that TLD doesn't matter.
