The man who wrote the documents of surrender signed by Robert E. Lee was a Seneca Indian named Ely Parker (born Hasanoanda). Upon meeting him Lee extended his hand and said, "I am glad to see one real American here."

Be careful about starting threads like this. It might upset someone pining for the old days.

Most people here are too stupid to understand that was the last serious attempt at rebellion against a tyrannical federal government. The assassination of Lincoln led the US down the dark path it has followed ever since. Lee's comments foreshadowed the hit. I can see South America rising again but the Southern US as well as the rest of the US is no longer a country but merely an economic zone being pimped by profiteers descended from those who first installed Johnson into office after Lincoln. No accident Johnson has one of the lowest ratings of any US president. Don't ever let TPTB send your children to war over an economic zone. lol. |
I hate slavery sooooo much! If I could go back in time I would shoot every slave trader that ever brought a negro to America.
