I'm on your side, MS BUT I seem to remember a lawyer telling me years ago that since they did not go 'class action' only the members of FSC AT THE TIME were covered. If this is the same case going back almost a decade or whatever.

It wont help to join now and get this protection. That water has already passed under the bridge. I would never re-join the FSC after all their antics.

Well personally I never really gave Kernes too much attention. The first time I met him he was making gooey eyes at Ginger Lynn and taking 3D photos on a set. Apart from his largeness and one comment very truthful comment he made to me, I've never given him, AVN or the FSC a second thought.

Kern's comment basically was, "The industry is plagued by outsider trying to get close to naked people having sex and failing to get laid they look for ways to make a buck off of those fucking."

As far as I was concerned he summed up himself, AVN, FSC, dozens of suitcase pimps, and countless others. Best bet is to just ignore them because they only drag you down. Instead figure out ways to monetize a new group of "Southern Belles" outside of the Internet and its tube sites. (Or we could all just stroll down P.S.T memory lane.)

Well, I hate to break it to you but if the primary concern of your 'best bet' revolves around the monetization potential of an end product rather than just the quality of the end product in and of itself, then you are more part of the problem than the solution.

Basically what I meant was that when people say that porn, both the industry and the product, was so much better way back when, the best way to figure out why that is is to compare and contrast the typical mindset of those who created back then versus the typical mindset of those who create now. If you do that it's easy to see why things are the way they are and are no longer the way they were.

I mean, it shouldn't be all that surprising that things were better when the typical mindset of the creators was more along the lines of...

'Wow. This is so awesome! I can't believe it's legal for us to be doing what we're doing! Let's live it up and make the best porn we can possibly make because not only is doing so fun as hell but I really do think that what we're doing is important. And if the money comes, it comes. I get what you're saying and I agree about the mindset.

The problem is today's business environment, there's not a lot of incentive to make anything of quality. And it's not just porn but so many businesses are in the same situation.

I would like to go back to making actual movies and having "openings" like we used to have. This might be a surprise for many people that came into the biz post 2005... But it needs to be pointed out that there was a time when a lot of the people engaged in the production of porn were actual film makers and actors that failed to make it in mainstream.

Now of course I would love to go back to those days. After all, who the hell wouldn't? It's not a question of gleeful reminiscing about the old days because those old days were really that damn good compared to now.

Interesting outlook. As a producer, and site owner, its an intetesting place to be right now. An hour or so after an update going live on my site it will be uploaded to files-monster by one of their "affiliates"? who stole it as thieving uploaders do videos from every other porn website in existence that they post there.

You can buy a membership to files-monster for half the price of a membership to one porn site and get all the stolen uploads same day for $15. You don't even have to download, just watch it on their player.

Creating quality content takes time & money.

You'd think the uploaders for files-monster would get the hint when I manipulated their IP's in my members area last week, but nooo. They are greedy self righteous assholes anf feel they have a RIGHT to steal. My tech and I spent hours today, and into the night tracking new memberships bought on one IP , accessed on another, all ip's were dirty & blacklisted by at least 3 blacklists either for spamming or viruses, mostly botnet virus. ALL US IP's on phones or cable internet.

I used to just make content, now I do this too. I'm going to continue and build all the data until they back the fuck off or I get enough info to take them the fuck down.

I make jokes all the time about just setting up a hidden camera behind a dumpster where street pros work. And I make this joke for all the reasons you pointed out.

It's obviously an arm's race but it's also a fight against the tendency of many porn fans to be needy bitching assholes. So unfortunately there's nothing we can do to stop them on "their home territory." Therefore I've come to the conclusion that the only solution is to find ways to monetize our films outside of the Internet.

Now how do you go about doing that?

Most porn cinemas are gone and the few that are left don't give a shit. Plus I can't think of anyone that handles distribution anymore to them. However I'm sure if there was a willingness of several production companies to cooperate it could be made viable again. Unfortunately I don't see this happening because in this biz talking shit is preferable to actually working together.

It was pretty clear to me. Don't expect to make money off a shit product.

jimmy cooper, I disagree with what you are positing 100 percent. I think that before anyone could put up anything and make money in porno. Now the biz and market have shifted and sloughed off the poor quality and lazy producers/directors/performers/agents/distributors. Now what's left are the hard workers who are more focused and understand that you have to produce quality to make a dollar in porno. And that the days of making 1000 bucks are over, but now you can make 100 bucks 10 different ways if you are smart enough and industrious enough.
