DaFUgGk! People in Canada still need heat in June

Makes total sense but when I'm burning alive it just seems weird.

Passengers aboard a United Airlines flight spent the night in an unheated military barracks in rural Canada after a maintenance issue forced their plane to be diverted.

United Airlines flight 958 left Chicago on Friday night on its way to London when it was diverted to Goose Bay, Canada, a town in Newfoundland.

While the flight crew spent the night in a hotel, passengers said they slept in an unheated military barracks and only had a few blankets. Five members of the Royal Canadian Air Force accommodated the passengers in their barracks.

I've spent a night at an airport due to weather, I'm sure many of us have. It is fucking miserable. Can't imagine what it would have been like being trapped in the middle of nowhere in a military barracks without a blanket while the chaperones are sleeping soundly in a soft bed.

Weather has been awful here but the low last night was still like 63 f so it's not like they would be freezing to death. Maybe it's colder in goose bay. Lol.

Canada Remembers 9/11 Attacks, Gander, Newfoundland Praised For Taking In Stranded Travellers

All the heat was south of the border that day, too.

When I was a student I used to spend night in airports for cheaper connecting flights (ryanair and stuff). 12-16 hours in airport. Without any electronic device to watch movies or stuff. It used to be very boring, plus I could not sleep, so extra boring. Plus being alone is extra boring. But not a big deal if you have to do once in a while if your flight is delayed. Especially if you are with someone or/and have a laptop.
No big deal at all once in a while (once a year? once in 3 years?). Unless you are spoiled person.

Perhaps we couldn't find blankets large enough to cover their girth.
