Suspected Dallas Gunman Blamed Police 'for Taking His Son,' Father Says - ABC News

The father of the suspected gunman who opened fire on Dallas police officers Saturday morning said his son had recently lost his home and custody of his child -- and he had placed the blame on police.

"He said, 'I got nothing left.' He said, 'I've lost everything I have, and I've got nothing left, and they've taken my son.' And he did blame the police for taking his son," James Boulware's father, James Ray Boulware, told ABC News Saturday.

Dallas police said the suspect, who died during the attack, identified himself as James Boulware, but police said they could not confirm the identity.

I don't see him claiming that. Plus - I am not sure Mr. Boulware speak ebonics.

Din do nuffin is the black explanation (usually the mother of the criminal) for the criminals behavior and the explanation most often accepted by the black community. No one is explaining how this piece of shit didn't do anything and no one is defending his actions, nor decrying those on the police. It's hardly the default explanation of a criminals act for any other race of people in the country.

The man suspected of riddling Dallas police headquarters with bullets was mentally ill, according to his family, who once told authorities they were worried he would go on a shooting spree.

Boulware, 35, of Paris, Texas, had been arrested multiple times. One of the more troubling arrests was in May 2013, when he allegedly choked his mother, strangled his uncle and made threats, including one about a mass shooting.

Police found an array of weapons when they arrived at his home at the time.

Relatives told police Boulware threatened to "kill all the adult members of the family and then that's when he made the comment he may shoot up some churches and schools," Hundley said.
