What to do in this situation?
Hi
I got a UK claddifieds site and someone has posted ad(s) using someone elses details using their FB details. The affected person is obviously upset and has contacted the 5'o who have then contacted me via email and want to talk to me. What to do in this situation? If they ask me to identify myself, should I do that? Thanks |
Option A: Tell the cops you did all in your power to ensure that the information was genuine but that you can only do so much.
Then provide all the info you have about the jerk (IP, email, etc...) Option B: Go all out Snowden on them, claim your users have a right to privacy. That they should fuck off and come back with a warrant because you are a defender of internet freedom. Note: Option B might get you to jail. |

Edit: Contact from the cops by email? - There will be a case number - Confirm it by phone..... |
