Milky Bun, the new ice cream sandwich. have you tried this yet?

these guys are blowing up, in less than a year they're selling 1000s of these a day at several locations. they don't even put a sign up.

they invented the Milky Bun, it's a doughnut ice cream sandwich with a proprietary pressing process to smoosh it together, keep it cold on the inside and warm on the outside.

Today I saw a Wendy's commercial for cheese fries with bacon. Instant heart attack, I thought. This has now trumped it! My once a month twist donut with chocolate frosting is now sounding quite sad compared to this, LOL.

Probably tastes like two Krispy Kreme donuts with ice cream smashed in the middle.

Looks damn good. :thumbsup

I want a franchise.

(so I can eat one whenever I want)

Mutt 07-11-2015 06:56 PM

that proprietary heating process smells like bullshit lol

what technology could heat the two sides of the bun and leave the inside unaffected?

um ... this is a Belgian waffle sandwich, been around forever.

but good on them for their success

I don't know why they need a special heating process.
I would just mix the ice cream with the topping on a plate and put the doughnut in the
microwave then take it out and lay the ice cream on it.

:helpme

i think the special heating process is just some clever marketing. Look at the Belgian waffle ice cream sandwich photo - there's no special heating process, grill/warm the waffles, stick a slab of ice cream between them - eat quickly.

VikingMan 07-11-2015 08:36 PM

Murica fuck yeah!

I agree saying you have a proprietary heating process is great marketing, BUT - they are sealing the doughnut, so that the ice cream doesn't come out the sides, like it does in a Belgium Waffle sandwich (or a cookie ice cream sandwich). It's probably more technique than machinery, but hats off to them. However they're doing it, they're doing it right.

The branding and design of the store rocks as well.

Pizza by the slice and a unique ice cream treat ..... Sounds like a good combo.

We're opening our third store in October in a mall and we'll be debuting Frozen Custard in a separate kiosk. Nobody is doing Frozen Custard in Malaysia yet. We're working on a soft cookie ice cream sandwich . . . but then I saw this. Probably still go with the cookies.
