Site blocked in China (actual business thread)
Recently one of our sites was blocked for China, we got a nice amount of Chinese traffic to this site which was actually selling. I was advised by one of my Chinese buyers to open up a Chinese server and jump to a new domain through the server. I could purchase a new domain but I don't want the site to get penalized by google for duplicate content. Any ideas what we could do?

is it an adult site?

It doesn't matter what kind of site it is, here's why.
China has two kinds of blocking. IP level and Domain level. Chinese networks are all blocked from a single central entity. Further to that, China engages in DNS poisoning to ensure that workarounds are more difficult. The only way someone will reach your site from China is through a VPN, however many of those won't work either. Save your money. Getting a server in China won't help the problem. |
If it's an adult site it will be blocked in the end, just matter of time. I'm living in China for years.
