Review of iwantporn.net

Hey,

I once had a "feeback"-link on my site I want porn! to get ideas to improve it more than I already do, but I did not even get 1 message. :)

So I am asking here, hoping to get more comments on if it is any good and whats missing. =)

Hope thats fine. If not: :321GFY

Well, even if you don't link any of my sites, why not.

1) I don't like the colors of the site, it seems to me like some fairy tale circus.
2) You HAVE TO improve your js code A LOT. When I am scrolling the site in firefox it's warping like 2 fps. => User experience is just awful.

Look at event counts on your site (I have like 35+ tabs/sites open in firefox at the moment):

That's just wrong.

The site isn't even responsive.

I already thought of getting rid of a lot of code. Hearing from a different person that it slows down the whole site just encourages me to do it earlier. thanks :)

What do you mean? Of course it is.(?)

Hi LK,

Think you've misunderstood what responsive means in the context of design. Your site is definitely not responsive:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsive_web_design

LizardKing 09-17-2015 04:56 AM

Maybe I did understand something wrong, but my site looks perfect on desktop, mobile and tablet. Also google mobile-friendly-tool says everything is fine.
So I dont know what I missed?

gnawledge 09-17-2015 04:58 AM

I like how it's set up. It isn't confusing, mobile friendly and the colors stand out which is good. Out of all the Porn lists, I remember this one. I'm not even listed and still give it a thumbs up.

These porn list sites are going to be ban hammered on google soon. Most of them looks the same, plus there is no original content at all.

In contrast, iwantporn.net has at least some unique theme.

I hope not - Already got punished half a year for whatever reason. I am waiting for the recovery, not getting hammered again. ;)
Descriptions are unique and the twitter-content works quite good for the sites - they got clicked quite often. Also translations are on the way to hit the shelves. Hope Google sees that! ;)

wocnom 09-17-2015 06:34 AM

I think if the toplist sites get hammered, that won't be because of any 'original content'. It will be because of the scheme based on demanded backlinks.

G doesn't like that even in small scale and these sites are using it mass way. G won't be blind forever. :2 cents:

Barry-xlovecam 09-17-2015 06:36 AM

What is you monthly income goal and what is the website's performance as a percentage of that goal?

30%, 59% or ?

If it's profitable -- invest in an upgrade -- if not move on to a newer idea.

With your traffic you might get a survey comment once a week or a month. I did not see a survey box? Did my ad blocker stop it from appearing?

LizardKing 09-17-2015 06:48 AM

The current monthly income is already way beyond my expectations, when I started the site in May 2015. But of course it always can be better. And as said, it already was a few month ago.
I don't have a problem in investing into upgrades/new features/whatever - But I don't know how/what.

Find a way to offer your surfers an added value for loyalty (return visits).
If you are starting from a satisfactory profit -- retain and improve the income at a sustainable rate.

You are already doing better that most that are critiquing.

As a footnote you are not listing our camsite so why do I waste my time here?

Freedom6995 09-17-2015 07:11 AM

Not looking responsive to me...

I checked various things now and as far as I can see this is not caused by JS, but by the many icons (favicons, popups-marks, details). It also affects FF only (a small performance issue in IE as well)...Working on it! Thanks for the heads up. ;)

You forgot to add All Gravure in the Asian category ;)

Site looks great from my phone too!

AdultKing 09-17-2015 08:45 AM

The site is not responsive, if you resize your browser the site's content does not collapse into the viewport area.

Go back to the design drawing board.

Too many porn sites lists popping up lately, so far it seems they rank well.

I think this site looks great on mobile anyway. I am using android and would love this site.

It is only matter of the time when google will penalize them for no unique content.

No, responsive does not equal mobile friendly.

Responsive means that the site will adapt to changing screen resolutions, a good example is when someone starts off in landscape mode and switches to portrait mode on a tablet or phone - or if someone resizes their browser window.

The OP's site is NOT responsive.

True, not responsive. But it looks good on all devices.
And I guess people scaling down the desktop-version to mobile size without using a mobile is...0?

The people turning their phone and tablet from landscape to portrait mode or vice versa is what you need to account for and your site fails on this test.

Also people regularly resize their browsers. :2 cents:

It sounds like you just want to be lazy and don't want to put the effort into a decent design job.

Don't get me wrong, I have sites that aren't responsive - but none of them are brand new. Any new site I build is always responsive.

jscott 09-18-2015 02:38 AM

LK, why does that "other guy" have it out for you soooooooooooo badly?

I see that responsive is something nice and I guess I will also recode my site. But I just want to point out that saying "This site is a joke, as it is not responsive" is just... wrong. Its a very small part and I guess 99.99% of all visitors dont even notice.

@jscott: what do you mean?:helpme
