Texas is hmmm... a bit specific place. Why not California? Not LA of course. Vendzilla said San Francisco is cool. I've never been to that city, so it's a question, but not a suggestion.

If I was younger I might. Have friends, best man twice, lives in Marina Del Ray but it's a little to "busy" for me. Traffic, crowded.

Also California is expensive property wise. The type of house I an accustomed to is at least 4-5 times more expensive there.

I see. That must be the main reason. Even gas there is more expensive comparing to the east coast. On the other hand, the realty is still much cheaper than say in London, Seoul or Moscow. So changing a country is not always a good solution. I don't want to state anything, just sayin'...

Not really much of anything there other than $1M+ houses. Come to think of it, I can't recall any restaurants ever being there. North on Bayshore, near Bay to Bay Blvd, there's The Colonnade. It's been there forever. Other than that, I can't think of any restaurants in that area. There's an old Civil War hospital on that corner, and people say it's haunted, but no places to eat.

Rural parts like central Florida is redneck and migrant workers. Along the Gulf of Mexico, it's over priced and populated with shitbags and old folks. The housing market is rising to where no one can buy a house unless it's in a shitty neighborhood or a trashed foreclosure. The people are fucked up and aggressive. Junkies and bums. Bums flock here because it's warm 350 days a year here and cities cater to their bullshit needs. Especially the drunk bastards who are a menace. They help them out before anyone else. Heroin and fentanyl are killing people left and right. So if you're a junkie, you'll be dead within a month with bad shit going around. Oh by the way it is as hot. No relief unless you own a pool, or live near the beach.

It's strange. My ex is from Jersey. So I would vacation there and NYC. This may be odd, but the people up north were friendlier and less aggressive than the people here. Especially Camden NJ. I drove around there and it's shitty but the people were in survival mode and less aggressive than the dread heads here. So, with all that said. Do not move here and buy land in Georgia.

I'm done with Florida too. Wife and I are looking at moving to Washington state next summer. The west side.
