When did "The Big Bang Theory" jump the shark?
Season 1 episode 1
|
Just let them be happy - FFS...
|
If "them" get unhappy on account of a dyna mo thread, then "them" were never happy to begin with.

You mean the writers who had a character gain 100 IQ points and become a successful pharmaceutical rep making big bucks just because she cut her hair and became average looking? |
Oh sweet, another intellectual thread.

My guess is she made them do it when they had their last contract dispute. |
I'm just happy I got to see her anus in the fappening. At least I think it was her anus. Folders might have been mislabeled.

You guys do realise this is a comedy and not a documentary about a GFYer who got lucky?..

starting off this final season with a wedding? come on, it's like melrose place meets general hospital.

About 5 years ago when it became a couples show. Howard and Raj's antics as the b story was always entertaining. If I laugh once an episode the past few years, that is a win.

I was in an audience in 2011. |

they still supplement the show with the laugh track. |

because that's how tv shows get made. seinfeld was exponentially more funny than bb yet they used the laugh track extensively, in spite of mic;ing the audience. |

:Oh crap . |

I'll say one thing though, watching the show being made from in the audience was outrageously funny and great entertainment. |

Keep in mind that actors make mistakes during tapings, the fifth time the audience laughs is not going to be near as good as the first time, yet we always hear a good laughing routine. Laugh Tracks Are No Replacement for the Real Thing | Variety |

Sheldon's comment (to Amy)in last night's preview of the next episode cracked me up.
Somethin' about his left hand can do everything for him. |

It is a giant circle jerk of a show but I still find it funny.
|
time out, stop the thread. you guys are saying they made penny a pharmaceutical rep? seriously?
fucking feminism. fucking, fucking feminism. :Oh crap |

From a broke ditzy blond failing actress everyone wanted to bang, to a short haired highest paid profession character on the show. |
I think the Penny makeover happened when Kelly Cuoco got married.
Sitcoms always make the mistake of thinking "time" also happens on their show. Meaning, if seven years has passed in "real time" sitcoms think that same seven years has happened on their show. So they think characters have to "grow". Penny can't stay a waitress forever! Uh, yes she can and should have you fucking idiots. LOL |

To my knowledge, this episode was the first to mention that Sheldon has a brother, so I think we'll be seeing him sometime this season. |
Jumping the shark assumes it was good at one point and it never was.

I did not get the appeal of that show. And I like various sitcoms from the dumb ones to the "intellectual" ones. This particular one just did nothing to me at all.
