New Member/Clips Site - Looking for payment processing

Hello everyone, I'm setting up a new US based pay per download clips store. I was wondering what my options are for payment processing? I've been looking at the rates of the well known services, CCBill, Epoch, etc., and it looks like they are charging 15% across the board. Is there a service that offers better rates for pay per download sites? I figured the risk is much lower for these type of sites since there are no recurring charges. I want to be able to accept Visa/Mastercard, and be able to payout affiliates directly.

CCBill may charge a little bit more than other processors, but you get what you pay for: quality service, reliability, great customer service.

ccbill have a nice affiliate system.

the other advantage with ccbill is that you should find you get more affiliates promoting your site as most like ccbill.

I vote CCBILL...for all the reasons previously mentioned. You KNOW you're gonna get your check, as well do your affiliates.

Ok, thanks for the input. I guess I'll use CCBill if I decide to go the 15% per tx route. I was considering Vendo as well though since I have a buddy that works there.

I thought the reason adult processing was so expensive was because of the chargebacks from people disputing recurring charges. Since pay per download sites do one-off payments I figured it would be cheaper since the risk isn't the same. I'm looking for options closer to 5% per tx.

"Cheaper" isn't 'better'...and if you expect affiliates and a good affiliate program, doing w/ a 'not so well known' billing company, will cost you in the end. :2 cents:

Thanks everyone. I've reached out to everyone that provided their contact info. $tandaman, I just used the contact page on your website as I couldn't find your e-mail address. I'm excited to start this new business venture but I want to make sure I've considered all the options to make an informed decision.

Some great people in this thread, but, in my experience, Verotel do not pay. Your mileage may vary.
