Mac users: Have you taken the plunge to El Capitan yet?
I did yesterday on my primary iMac and it works like a charm. Will need to up my RAM as it is a resource hog bringing Adobe Media Encoder to it's knees, but otherwise, all legacy software works fine and EC has some helpful new features.
What's your experience with this OS upgrade thus far? Colin |
So far so good, gets out of the way and it's fast (on a fully maxed out macbook air at the moment).
|
They were at 10.4 when I worked for Apple 10 years ago and now it's 10.11... Fucking make OS11 already.. :Oh crap
|
The only thing that stood out to me so far was that Apache stopped working due to previous config being overwritten. Other than that it's been smooth sailing!

All my macs are upgraded except my music workstation.
Going to wait for instrument makers and audio interface makers to update their software before upgrading my DAW computer. |
Subtle differences but to me it seems a little faster and iMessage works better.

Noticing a lot of bugs on both iMac and MB pro.
|
I did the upgrade to 1 machine first, and then once I saw that it worked well I upgraded the others. So far I like it, no complaints. My computer seems to run faster now too. I haven't explored all the new features yet but the upgrade experience was a snap.

My Macbooks are updated. I usually wait a month or so before updating all my Hackintosh workstations.

Also Maschine & El Capitan is a big no no at the moment. I have a Maschine Studio and Komplete Ultimate, the forums have warnings not to upgrade. I haven't tested Traktor yet on my S4 & F1 controllers. |
Works well on 3 different Macs. Faster and seems more seamless with my iPhone 6s Plus.
My Jump app is so much faster and more responsive. I am able to load drives with content and FTP files remotely from from my phone or Mac to another mac with almost zero lag. I can literally run all my macs from my phone as if I am there. Saves time moving files from one place to another from anywhere in the world. And without needing to be there. I also love how Jump can wake up any sleeping Mac from anywhere. I get a lot of random work done while at the park with my kids. Just Dave |

On Intel yes, Amd no.

Just as much a piece of shit as the version before that. Nothing has worked right since Jobs died and that gay guy took over.
I really am quite upset about the whole thing frankly! |
