Can Self-Driving Cars Make Ethical Decisions?

Who will live and who may die? Can AI in the form of self-driven automobiles make these driving decisions?

Would your self driving car hit the child chasing it's ball in the street or swerve and possibly injure itself (THE CAR - PRIME DIRECTIVE?), the car's occupants and/or other drivers?

The opposing argument is there will be a net gain as there will be fewer vehicular/pedestrian accidents ...

Do you agree with a AI machine deciding your destiny?

Isn't this the premise of iRobot?
The hero hating robots because one saved his life instead of his daughter's because he had better chances of surviving.

I dunno, but the cartoon from the link makes it look like he is using the car as a toilet :thumbsup

Many times the drunk driver survives and passengers die. Human instinct

I watched a YouTube video of someone test driving a tesla that drives itself. Let's just say they need a lot of work and I would probably have a heart attack letting one drive me. This technology is not ready.
