Doctors and Nurses of GFY

I have a severe stabbing pain just below my left nipple.
It's now been hurting for about 5 hours and gets worse if I exert myself.

Any idea what it might be?

PR_Glen 11-26-2015 09:18 AM

go to emergency. probably nothing, but do you think it's ever worth the risk?

clickity click 11-26-2015 09:24 AM

Well I would feel daft if its trapped wind or indigestion.

dyna mo 11-26-2015 09:27 AM

It's probably a tumor.

severe pain in chest area that gets worse with exertion, and you are asking about it on gfy? :error

is it right below the left nipple? or below, but a bit towards the middle of the chest?

Well it's kind of all around that area bit mainly below and to the middle he. Should I phone NHS direct?

I'm no doctor, but doesn't sound good... I would get off gfy, and seek real medical help... :2 cents:

kkkkkk 11-26-2015 09:45 AM

Doctors are doctors, tests are tests. Learn to test yourself.

DamnSexy 11-26-2015 09:48 AM

It could be really many things, and it's hard to diagnostic anything online from just a symptom. Go to doctor, he/she will help you much better than any other people here.

5 hours and you are posting on GFY? - It's probably not what you think it is...

Any shortness of breathe?....

If not then I am going for sore ribs - Sit upright when you type...

If you find it hard to breath at any time call 999...

RTP 11-26-2015 10:21 AM

cut the nipple off, it grows back

I always wanted to make a heath website that a visitor checks boxes of their symptoms and the website thinks/searches and comes up with "It's probably a tumor."

clickity click 11-26-2015 11:20 AM

Doc said nothing to worry about. Looks like inflamed trapped nerve near lungs. Quite common, normally caused by either infection or banging.
He did say the medical name but I can't remember it.

40 and above I would worry that I was having a mild heart attack.

I experienced chest pains when I was 17 that got pretty bad and actually got a battery of tests done (ended up being a waste). Turns out it was that I was swimming so much that the cartilage between my ribs and breastbone became inflamed from all the swimming.

I swam because of the fractures in my femurs from running.

wehateporn 11-26-2015 12:49 PM

Going to the hospital is a bigger risk than not going

This is exactly what I have. Don't know the cause though.

I am not doctor but... Right below your nipples is very close to your heart.

If nothing else, eats some food and take some aspirin. :2 cents:

Thin your blood and prevent coagulation (which keeps clots from forming).

Then comes internal bleeding :2 cents:

As long as it hurts, you are alive. On the serious note, this happens to me sometimes, and the doc says it's because I sit too long, and after an hour or so, it looks like a question mark is sitting in front of the pc.
Glad you are ok. ;)

adultchatpay 11-26-2015 07:24 PM

Listen to me.. I've been experiencing that for the past 3-4 months. I've done all ECG, blood works, x-ray.. all came back normal.

Went to an ENT and found out i have LPR, somewhere close to GERD or acid reflux.
It's just acid coming out and "burning" your chest up to your esophagus.

Do you feel a choking sensation? Are you burping often? Feeling something is stuck in your throat but there is non?

Most chest pains are not heart related.

Try this, dissolve 1 tsp of baking soda to 1/2 cup of water.
3x a day... that chest pain will go away, trust me. I've done that.

But if symptoms persists, it's better to visit a doctor.

michael.kickass 11-27-2015 05:46 AM

Please seek medical help, that doesn't sound good.
