Do people actually find love on dating sites?
 

I've been spending more and more time on a couple of popular dating sites testing some new strategies and generating leads for some CPA offers.

My motto has been "One woman's cesspool is another man's goldmine" because the user-base of these websites is absolute trash. As soon as a woman joins a site, (even before uploading a profile pic) she's immediately inundated with thirsty guys begging to either fuck her, or solicit her for paid sexual favors.

How do dating sites continue to thrive and be successful? The ratio of men to women must be incredibly off...Do they just continue to feed off lonely guys paying for premium so they can boost themselves to the top?

I've not had much luck finding love on dating sites. Pussy yes but love? No.

I met my girl 8 years ago on Yahoo personals.

I know someone who married someone they met on a dating site.

In the interest of full disclosure they have only been married about 2 years and only dated for about 6 months before getting married so I have no idea how it will work out long term.

I think the lopsided membership numbers are mostly in adult dating sites. When you get into mainstream dating sites the ratio of men to women is much closer.

My brother in law met his girlfriend and they're having a baby in February! My friend also met his girlfriend, they dated for about 2 years and then split.

It happens.

Is there someone who use these services (I mean the real ones, not fakes) to find a love??? No way! The only purpose those sites work for is an instant sex for a night - free any easy.

Perhaps dating sites are just a seedier version of a dive bar downtown...

If your picture matches what you really look like in life then you will have success. But if you post a pic that makes you look like an adonis and you really look like Al Bundy then you're fucked. (And not in a good way.)

Some dating sites are scam mostly, but some are legit enough.
I know some young (under 28) girls who are in those badoo's and have sex with like 3 different guys per week, so there's lots going on, but, none of these relationships stick forever.

I am 40+, I dated one year a woman I found using a legit dating site (will not tell what one, but they do TV ads in europe, and logging into women account sI seen the man/women ratio is 1:3 or better)... incredibly she was into goa (psy trance) festivals too, at age over 40, that was super accidental luck, I think, so ti was an easy match for me.
After broke with her (she was eventually too crazy), I used same dating site and... I could get out with another girl (10 years younger than me this time) in matter of a week or 2... it ended into nothing as I had not the patience...
But I mean, if your profile is cool (pics, text - most profiles are boring, contain grammar errors...) and you have a strategy (i.e: target older woman who are there for real business, rather than younger who is there just for compliments shower), it can work, honestly.
However, I can have same or more success with plain telecommunication systems, not made for dating (but I could not find any women in BBS's at the time, it was all male...). Since 3 months I date a woman I catched with a simple messenger (wechat) using the function "show who is nearby". First she deleted me (they always do), then, I re-asked connection and insisted the right way, now the issue is reversed, she wish to marry I think.

The main issue for me it is to explain what's my job. I first say it's internet and such, that does it at start, unless she is also into it and can do questions and check sites. Then they get pieces of reality with time. They all dislike, but no one broke for that very reason (including my first wife, 15 years ago...), it is more a pre-emptive paranoia of mine. Well cams it is not as "badly perceived" as porn director perhaps. I still think this job sucks for personal relations. Ah by the way I once dated a cam girl (Romanian, of course), it was no any different than dating a civilian girl, except, she shown me pics of cocks she received from customers, inviting me to laugh with her at these, that was indeed weird.

So yes, dating sites work, but, even plain facebook's or messengers can do it, it is more a matter of you.

Why trash? Plenty of normal or even top quality women join dating sites. And the fact they get bombarded with shitty messages does not mean they do not recognize quality messages. Quality guy with quality message definitely grabs their attention, even if it is 1 in 20 or whatever.

Non adult/sex dating sites are where many people look for love. And many people find that. It is just a meeting point and it takes from there.
