The murder rate for the US is going down and has been for years.

Vehicle theft down 60% from peak

Robbery is down 20%. Rape etc.

The only stat was up in recent years is assault. Almost everyone agrees that this is because as a society we have redefined what is an assault. Two guys throwing punches in the parking lot might not have been a big deal in 1980 but it is today.

We are safer then we have ever been in my life time. And Texas just felt a need to allow everyone to carry....

This is cherry picking by the FBI as 91 is probably at or near the peak crime for the US in any long term trend. But look at the drop since then in every category.

You odds of getting shot or murdered in this country are actually pretty low unless you visit the localized hot zones. Every town has one and some towns are nothing but one.

Perfect example of what I mean when I say pussyfied society.

Incorrect .... The only people in Texas that can open carry are people that have a concealed carry permit.

And ..... Thirty-one states allow the open carrying of a handgun without any license or permit, although in some cases the gun must be unloaded. Fifteen states require some form of license or permit in order to openly carry a handgun.
