Youtube channel income.

Just curious if anybody's doing any great with personal youtube channel?

nico-t 01-21-2016 08:27 AM

i started a channel 6 months ago, things were going up until jan 1, 2016.

suddenly earnings were 25% of what they used to for the same views.

So lets take $100.
Then all of a sudden $100 turns to $25.

seems this is 'business as usual' from google. Everyone has to accept this. "it happens all the time in january, february will be good again"

just when in january the views are higher than ever before.

Thank you google! :thumbsup

Thanks for your input.

I'm thinking personal video blog to talk different things, biz, life, all the shit. Just curious what its like monetization wise? I'd sure make a landing page and all the social accounts.

Did you pay for extra promotion at all?

Yeah that is normal for adsense too.Basically the advertisers bid on the keywords and they will be competing less in slow months

Been running YouTube channels since late 2009. I wouldn't say I'm doing "great" with them but it's consistently 4 figures a month. :2 cents:

Today's deposit from Google. Like I said, not "great" but considering I started using YouTube as a way to host my videos for free, I'm not gonna complain about them paying me to do it. :glugglug

Nice. How many subscribers you have to pull those numbers?

You can expect that every year with youtube. January and February are the two lowest months of the year for CPM and revenue. It all goes back up after.

LOL oh...: I thought you were asking about how much they monthly payments were.

The channel topics vary but they are mostly outdoors related.

The money thing was very inspiring no doubt. Did it only take you to submit videos without any extra promotion? And the outdoors is cool, I'm in love with off grid living / housing stuff, watch that shit a lot. On my end I would like to contribute to decision making, choices, motivation and shit - sort of mentor / chat buddy gigs.

Dude you just need to try with videos you like to make and watch how it goes. There is no one way to do it and make it work great. You will get the feel as you go.
The girls I work with all make videos and I helped them all get started and keep them going with it.
I never talk about it on here. Just seems too easy to copy but it is that easy.
We tried some different "subjects" and they are doing a lot better than what we started with.

I sort of figured that out, but since I never did it it sounded contradictory.

To be honest, I have no idea. I don't pay much attention to the subscriber counts these days. I'm fortunate enough to have a few significant traffic sources that link to my videos and that's where it starts. After that, things kinda snowball and YT starts feeding traffic to me as well. One example of this is TheBlaze. Any time they share one of my videos it turns into millions of views and the snowball goes on for months.

When I get back to my computer, I'll add up the subscribers and post back.

Credit where credit is due...If not for Deej, I wouldn't have even thought to monetized my first YT channel.

The only extra promotion I've ever done is embedding the videos into my own sites and submitting them to other sites to share with their readers. I've never paid to promote anything on YT.
