Trump loses in Iowa

2016 Election Center - Presidential Primaries and Caucuses ? 2016 Election Center - CNNPolitics.com

Well, no one can really say they didn't see it coming.

The Des Moines Register's poll showed a statistical dead heat between Trump and Cruz

crockett 02-01-2016 07:41 PM

In before the Trumplets say it din mean nuttins...

blackmonsters 02-01-2016 07:46 PM

Don't count Trump out yet; there are still a lot of stupid people left.

Tubthumper 02-01-2016 07:47 PM

This is a state that chose Huckabee and Santorum. Doesn't mean jack squat.

Mr Pheer 02-01-2016 07:49 PM

Only 57% reported. To early to call it when it's this close.

spunky99 02-01-2016 07:53 PM

will the canadian win? :)

Tubthumper 02-01-2016 07:54 PM

If Cruz wins, he joins Santorum and Huckabee as far-right evangelical nutcases who had no chance of winning the presidency.

Ummmm it's not close..

Cruz has 29% Trump is 24% and the most telling sign, is Rubio has 21%,.

When Rubio drops out or Cruz, his voters aren't going to go to Trump. They will go to Cruz or vice versa.. The establishment voters won't vote Trump.

This should be a reality check for our GFY Trumplets..

Perhaps we need to set up n a suicide hotline for those still in denial..

Tje best part will be watching all the GFY Trumplets start making excuses as to why they are voting for Cruz or Rubio.. In the comming months, it will be pure comedy.. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

VikingMan 02-01-2016 07:56 PM

Iowans are possibly the dumbest people in the USA. Cruz is creepy.

TampaToker 02-01-2016 07:59 PM

Cruz has to be a bit nervous he has a superior ground game and Trump has none in Iowa.
Also Cruz is using psychological data as well. This could get very interesting. Wildcard of the night goes to Mark Rubio:2 cents:

mce 02-01-2016 08:02 PM

One thing's clear... if Trump loses in New Hampshire, he's done.

TCLGirls 02-01-2016 08:11 PM

A Trump supporter just said Trump is losing because all the illegal aliens in Iowa voted for Cruz/Rubio.

Ummm, they each have 5 delegates. It is close, like tied.

Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Ronald Reagan all lost Iowa, fyi. Too early for low energy anti-Trumpers to gloat.

You have a point there.... Iowa's done a LOUSY job of predicting the nominee much less the WINNER of the general election.

Mr Pheer 02-01-2016 08:38 PM

Cruz wins but Hillary has a 1% lead over Sanders.

That's more scary than anything coming from the Republican side.

To be fair, I don't see Trump staying in this if he loses New Hampshire.

dyna mo 02-01-2016 08:42 PM

Cruz snagged another delegate and wins by 1. Hills by 3 delegates over Sanders

You are missing the big picture. Trump will not gain establishment voters. They hate his guts. All those people voting for Cruz, Rubio and Carson will all go to which ever guy is the establishment pick. They won't swap over to Trump.

It's clear as day if you use common sense.. It's not Trump, Rubio, Cruz in the 20% and Carson with 10. It's establishment Republicans at 75% and Trump at 25%.

mce 02-01-2016 08:44 PM

Trump looks like he's headed for THIRD PLACE

Maybe skipping that Megyn Kelly ambush debate wasn't a hot idea after all?

Rochard 02-01-2016 08:47 PM

I must admit I am a bit surprised tonight... I just assumed Trump would win. 99% votes in, Cruz won by a mile, and just as surprising was Rubio nearly tied with Drump.

On other side, as it stands at this moment, Bernie is nearly tied with Hillary.

I know this is only Iowa, but still... WTF?

TCLGirls 02-01-2016 08:49 PM

It looks like many of those Trump supporters in Iowa were just "rah rah rah" cheer leaders, with no real desire to caucus. Or perhaps they weren't even from Iowa, but still responded to polls.

Also, people show up to his rallies because he's a celebrity.

The real battles are NH and SC

If he can't get NH, he's done.

Yea perhaps many of those people at his rallies are simply "star stuck"...but when it comes down to it, they won;t vote for him for Prez.

2MuchMark 02-01-2016 09:12 PM

I hate Ted Cruz but I'm happy to see Trump lose to him. Hopefully he's a little humbled by the experience.

You seem to want an establishment Republican to be the nominee, but since you are a Democrat shouldn't that concern you the most? Can you really see Clinton defeating Rubio?

Rubio, if he gets the nom, can actually be a strong contender in the GE.

If you want the Democrat to win, it's better to have Cruz the GOP nominee IMHO. Cruz is fucking scary and will certainly draw out all the dems to vote. Whereas Trump as GOP nominee could draw significant dems to vote GOP

Relentless 02-01-2016 09:30 PM

Sanders and Rubio will see the biggest bounce off these results...

100% agreed. I want Cruz to win the GOP nomination. If he does, Dems will win the house. Here's one reason why.

Not today. They posted from two different events that Crump had today and it seemed they were both empty.

This is all about marketing, and let's face it - Trump is really good at marketing. They pick event locations based on expected attendance; If they pick a place too big and not enough people show up it looks embarrassing. But Frump has been able to pack them in.

I would not be a bit surprised if they were bused in from somewhere.

People seem to think Brump is a reality star or something but I never understood that. He is just another of a long line of business people from NJ. Yeah, he had a tv show, but I never watched it once. Just not my thing.

I seem to understand reality, unlike the Trump fan club here on GFY.

Cruz is the most creepy scuzball right wing whacko out there.... if he even gets close to the white house bye bye adult industry in the US.

Sanders might get a little bounce, but everyone knows that NH, Vermont, and Iowa are his big three; they're filled with white socialists. He split the white vote with HC, when the non-white voters add their voices, he's done.
