Jimmy Carter: US campaign funding is 'legal bribery'
 

Former US president Jimmy Carter says the way politics is now funded in the US amounts to "legal bribery".

Speaking to John Humphrys, who first interviewed Carter when he was running for the Democratic nomination in 1976, he said almost all candidates now relied on "massive infusions of money".

President Carter suggested he would not have become US president if he were competing under the current conditions.

This from an anti-semite who takes millions from the Saudis and does their bidding? (and p.s. Was a disaster as a president)

It always been a bribery. I'm surprised it's a news for someone. Also everything that guys at Wall Street do is called corruption. For some unknown reason Americans are used to call it lobby and it's not even a crime in their country.

"Legal bribery" is the wrong term.

"Compulsory Purchase" is a better way to put it.
