However, one person associated with Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts did make money:

Donald J. Trump.

A review of the company’s public filings show that over that period, while his ordinary investors were getting hosed, Trump himself was siphoning millions out of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts through salary, “bonuses” — yes, really — and cozy “service agreements” or side deals with his private corporations.
I don't think "business success" in any way qualifies him to run the country, but it is looking more and more that Trump isn't the success he endlessly brags to be.

This morning on TV Donald Hump said "He employees lots of people in Hawaii at his hotel". Turns out, once again, the hotel isn't owned by him or his company, but they just license the name. The hotel has nothing to do with him.

ALL the casinos in Atlantic City went down. Not just the one Trump had.

The BIG boys of casinos in the U.S. are MGM and Caesars.

Trump having "Trump Plaza" with 3 mid sized casinos (by todays standards) hardly meant much of anything.

Having said that...Caesars Casino's also filed for Chapter 11 in Atlantic City for the Ballys Casino and Caesars Casino there.

There is a huge difference in claiming that somebody is incompetent and an entire industry in a town crashing.

I live here in Vegas. And even Vegas was hurt badly.
Today...Vegas doesn't even come close to the casinos in Macau China. They are DESTROYING Vegas in terms of revenue.

Atlantic City never had a chance...with the economic collapse AND the surge of Native American Casinos....people in the U.S. no longer are forced to go to Atlantic City or Vegas to gamble. You can literally gamble everywhere in the country now.

Mark, do you have friends that own and start businesses? I do and myself included we have had some real turds. We have had some great successes as well but if you are in business to open businesses failure is just part of the overall experience.

In fact Forbes will tell you that over 50% will fail within 5 years for a variety of reasons. Trump is a businessman, he owned hundreds, some have to fail. Criticizing him for not having a 100% success rate is foolishness.
