Fuck me. I spent the boom up there working all over the place from 2010 to last July when I took my last contract. Sad to see this happen... I hope they get it under control. :[

Not following you. What do you mean?

Also the word karma was never meant to be turned into a bullshit superstitious fundamentalist term. It was meant to be used in the context of if you make the choice of beating someone's face in then you go to jail because you made a bad choice. It was not meant to used for example, when you steal something then your whole family dies in an airplane crash. Just saying.

This has been on the news in the US. It looks horrible.

I live in Northern California, and we've had some large fires that have displaced entire towns, but they have always been smaller towns with only a few thousand people displaced. This looks like a nightmare.

We lease their water dropping equipment in California; they seem to have experience with forests and fires.

Scary and sad for sure. I have family in Calgary and Edmonton, and these cities are expecting something like 50,000 "refugees" over the next day or so. It's going to be insane. When those people get to return home in a few days, many of them will find their houses destroyed. A friend of mine told me tonight that lineups to by gas are almost 10 miles long. Fortunately though there are lots of people driving up the other direction bringing free food and free water to everyone. Hopefully no one gets hurt.

QUEBEC ? Four water bombers from Quebec?s forest fire protection agency, SOPFEU, left Quebec Thursday morning to help tackle the wildfire burning around Fort McMurray.

The planes, with eight pilots and four mechanics on board, are expected to arrive in Alberta Thursday evening, said SOPFEU spokesperson Éloise Richard.

On Wednesday, Premier Philippe Couillard vowed to help Alberta by supplying planes, firefighters and other manpower.
