Do most affiliate programs pay affiliates automatically or by request?
 

Been thinking of being an affiliate for some other websites for extra cash. If you meet the minimum payout do most adult affiliate programs pay you automatically or do you have to contact them and say you want your money?

Before you join do a search on the board to see if the company pays (at all) etc.. so you know what to expect. Most BIG sites pay on time all the time or even before payment date, but doesn't hurt to check.

I made a mistake of not checking a few weeks back made a bunch of money on one site, looked it up on gfy and they are known for not paying out so it's going to be a hasstle if i would of known before hand i would never of promoted that site.

If they don't pay automatically and without demand they are pretty much crooks. Unfortunately this is the first thing to go when a program develops cash flow problems -- they just slow-walk the affiliate payments, and then they start paying only the affiliates who complain.

BongaCash pays automatically like most others do.
But there was a good advice from Phoenix to always keep in touch with your account manager.

You are right. Cashflow problems are dark clouds on the horizon. There is no reason why a sponsor should pay later than 10 days after a billing period ends .... not with established affiliates.

I only know of one site that pays on request and it's a PAIN IN THE ASS. Would not recommend unless you're not adverse to risks.

Other just don't pay at all.

99% pay out automatically. However while managing accounts I always had a hand full of guys who would set their min. to a crazy high amount so when ever they felt like getting paid they would just lower it.
