There is no true Journalism any more like just reporting what happened, just op-ed crap. Propagandists.

I have been saying it for the last 20 years....we are being herded like cattle and classic divide and conquer strategy is being used against us in order to destroy our culture to make us easier to control. Even the dumbest of the dumb are beginning to see it as well but now it is too late.

If you think like cattle you can be herded like them.

Which is 90% of people. Then the other 9.9% are terrified of being burned at the stake, tortured, "struggled against" etc. which is what invariably happens.

Yeah, and if you feel pain like cattle. Paul if 500 guys with guns and whips tell you to get in the herd and be quiet, you'd do it. It might take being starved, it might take seeing your wife whipped, but you'd do it eventually.

Working for real freedom is fucking hard, and there is no "new world" to escape to this time. In 30 years there won't be anywhere on this earth you can hide from the tax masters.

Most definitely.

The Germans were to blame for the Nazis. Voters are to blame for their politicians. People who take one side of the media at face value are idiots.

People are not forced to vote for people like Palin or Trump, yet they did and still do.

We don't live in N. Korea.

It's not hard, it's just less cozy. You will have to pay your taxes so the country doesn't go bankrupt, buy goods made in the First World so others can have jobs, not vote for idiots who tell you they will cut your taxes.

"The New World" was very tough, no roads, police, armies, running water, power, etc. You would have died in it.

As the media has so many different opinions, which one do you follow and why has it got you fooled?

This is a serious question. Online I can read media stretching from the very Far Right to the very Far Left. I can Google and verify facts from different sides.

Only an idiot believes one source, except those in places like N. Korea which is cut off to keep its citizens in the dark relying on one source for information.

Lists like these prove I'm right. Because the lists exist and the books can be found.

The English words "The pen is mightier than the sword" were first written by novelist and playwright Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839, in his historical play Cardinal Richelieu.

Richelieu, chief minister to King Louis XIII, discovers a plot to kill him, but as a priest he is unable to take up arms against his enemies.

His page, Francois, points out: But now, at your command are other weapons, my good Lord.

Richelieu agrees: The pen is mightier than the sword... Take away the sword; States can be saved without it!

The saying quickly gained currency, says Susan Ratcliffe, associate editor of the Oxford Quotations Dictionaries. "By the 1840s it was a commonplace."

Today it is used in many languages, mostly translated from the English. The French version is: "La plume est plus forte que l'epee."

Urban Dictionary: the pen is mightier than the sword

People have been whining about the the press, or now called the 'media', long before you were born. There is plenty of Liberal or Right Wing themed media to go around -- the choice is yours what to believe ...

Relic 07-09-2016 03:58 PM

I believe it is virtually all weaponized now plus consolidated so it serves no other function than inciting war. You can't advocate total freedom of the press and not acknowledge the banned books barry. It's two sides to the same coin. Freedom for some is freedom for none.

Before the Internet, it was easier to mislead people. Today it's not possible to mislead those who will look at an issue and think about doing some research. The key is doing the research.

Both candidates are crap, like so many Presidential Candidates. Your democracy is run by big businesses and corporation. The problem is the idiots who keep voting for the candidates backed by big business.

I'm not saying people aren't herded. Just not those with much intelligence, they're the ones doing the herding.

Read my previous point. It proves all.

Yes, Government Spending could be slightly lower, for instance, a strong law to hit employers and landlords of illegal aliens, high tariffs on goods from the Third World, less spent on farm subsidies etc. The result would be higher prices. And still, the US would be running a huge deficit. But someone has herded you into thinking you pay too much in taxes. The herders are those who are often feeding off Government Spending. Like the Arms Industry.

I rest my case, not get back into line. :1orglaugh

The media is and always will be a tool for those who wish to influence society. Where once it was controlled, now everyone has the ability to use it. So I would disagree with the OP because just as it can be used for bad, it can also be used for good.

You should focus less on the what and more on the why Markham. The media is only able to incite terror because it coexists alongside hardcore censorship. Anything else is semantics.

It means there was no "north" and "south" Korea until 1945, when they were divided by the US, Britain, Soviets and China. That expounds on my statement that even though you take refuge in the fact that "we are not North Korea"; they were not either until they were. We could be under a dictatorship next year, and so could you. And neither of us would survive more than 6 months in such circumstances.
