Cheater affiliate: "Sorry, a person joined my link and used Proxy"
 

Affiliate signed up, spent 20 hours making fake signups for CPA, then asked payment. This happens almost daily, despite the affiliate area starts with big notices about we do not pay for proxy/vpn signups (and to contact before to start if using chat traffic etc.).

I write the standard reply like every day: "You are banned, your accounts are all made with proxy/vpn: [long list of user accounts all using proxies, none excluded - beside silly usernames and temp email hosts]".

Affiliate: "Sorry I had to have been a person who joined my reference link and would use Proxy. Apology as we do to solve this problem. And the money will I be paid ?"

Most do not reply, but the guy entertains. At this moment I remembered I did not logged in GFY in 2 months, so I could not resist returning in gfy, read some nonsense, and post this affiliate reply to entertain some of you guys.

I wonder if some Indian has sold a 'How to make money online' and put your site in the instructions

He is from Venezuela. Russians don't do stupid proxy signups since ages, that's only south east asians (philippines, vietnam, indonesia, india, bangladesh, pakistan) and south americans doing that now. Russians are hacking banks.

Another kind of response is the one that they will write in all forums that we don't pay.

For example today a guy from Morocco:

Aha. Well, lucky for you they are too stupid to use residential proxies, otherwise you would be screwed :)

This is the reason we deny a large portion of applications to our network. There are so many fraudsters in this industry and you have to be careful.

What country are they usually from?

One way is to close down your aff program signup form and just manually approve every affiliate. There's only a handful worth bothering with anyway (people with traffic).

People able to use residntial proxy are not cheating cpa networks, but doing real jobs somewhere in a company. Affiliates even use hidemyass.com and such.

Example a GERMAN (not third world) these days:

if all signups were fake, i can understand if you delete them.
I didn't do the signups myself. Someone offered me to bring traffic to my site and he told me, it would be real traffic and no fake signups
I'm really sorry for this mess. I will contact him and talk with him about the case.

For some reason, it is always someone else to blame...

Manual approval is what some programs do, but I prefer to have them all try make signups then ban later, to me it looks more smooth (and not more work) than manual approvals. I need some signups to see if they're fake after all. And, their replies are sort of funny, I am cynical and I enjoy.

I used to spend a lot of time studying and carefully blocking proxy ranges, but now I use maxmind and it seems to stop them all.

Yes it is quite trivial when you have database which can either detect proxy or is it ISP residential or not.
