They admitted to "changing their algorithm" just after the debates because Hillary didn't get the bump they were hoping for. I documented 538's discrepancy here before they admitted it. In fact one of his partner sites split completely from them during this shutting the site down entirely which I also documented here. In truth they changed the actual poll numbers and it has been documented as well. Instead of using actual poll numbers they are "forecasting" poll numbers and changing previous poll numbers to reflect.
