Investigating Donald Trump, F.B.I. Sees No Clear Link to Russia

Quote:

WASHINGTON ? For much of the summer, the F.B.I. pursued a widening investigation into a Russian role in the American presidential campaign. Agents scrutinized advisers close to Donald J. Trump, looked for financial connections with Russian financial figures, searched for those involved in hacking the computers of Democrats, and even chased a lead ? which they ultimately came to doubt ? about a possible secret channel of email communication from the Trump Organization to a Russian bank.

Law enforcement officials say that none of the investigations so far have found any conclusive or direct link between Mr. Trump and the Russian government. And even the hacking into Democratic emails, F.B.I. and intelligence officials now believe, was aimed at disrupting the presidential election rather than electing Mr. Trump.
Interesting article.. :winkwink:

Yep, the libsters are constantly whining about the source. Clinton biased NYTimes was one of their favourites so they can't whine about the source now... it's gonna be very funny (and a bit pathetic) what desperate argument they come up with this time :1orglaugh

did anyone think there was a realistic link with trump and russia? it was surprising they even investigated it.

CarlosTheGaucho 11-01-2016 06:22 AM

Yes I'm waiting for another "17 national security agencies" to confirm that. HRC full of crap again? Who would have believed.

There has been a dude from the DNC camp blaming the FBI investigation on KGB recently on CNN or some other gem of a TV news program.

Too bad that KGB doesn't exist for 25 years already, appears they had to exhume some cold war tactics but didn't update the abbreviations. Panic mode on.

Funny how nobody ever addresses the corruption evidence itself, instead it's always the fact "that somebody dares to address the corruption evidence".

Clearly this was not a very deep investigation. After all it took 8 years for Trump's people to figure out Obama wasn't born in Kenya and you think the FBI has really looked through all Trump's email in a month or two?

Nice try OP.. really..

?Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets.? Donald Trump Jr.

Yes actually, lots of people think there is a very real link with Trumpy and Putin.

In fact those very smart chaps at Homeland Security have repeatedly said so.

The U.S. Intelligence Community (USIC) is confident that the Russian Government directed the recent compromises of e-mails from US persons and institutions, including from US political organizations. The recent disclosures of alleged hacked e-mails on sites like DCLeaks.com and WikiLeaks and by the Guccifer 2.0 online persona are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. These thefts and disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process. Such activity is not new to Moscow?the Russians have used similar tactics and techniques across Europe and Eurasia, for example, to influence public opinion there. We believe, based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, that only Russia's senior-most officials could have authorized these activities.

To be fair, it's not as if the New York Times is some Pro-trump propaganda outfit. They do have a relatively good reputation of "Not making shit up."

True. Their story is completely anonymous sources & goes against what Trump Jr & Trump himself have already stated publicly on television about Trumps relationship with Putin & Russians making up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of their assets.

I guess that leaves us with a question. "Who's more full of shit? the New York Times or Donald Trump?" Personally, I'm going take the Times word for it and continue assuming Russia has no influence over Trump until proven otherwise.

Edit: (Of course left-wing propaganda outfit thinkprogress takes issue with an apparently unbiased piece of journalism.)
