New here ...

Hi Guys/Girls

I looked for the intro section but couldn't see it so hopefully it's ok for me to say hi here :)

Name's Dave or if you prefer David, based in the UK, bonnie Scotland to be exact. I've dabbled with eCommerce stuff on/off over the years however never to any great extent. More recently, becoming a bit bored/disillusioned with the hum drum of day to day life, so looking for a side interest.

After some deliberation, already knowing that I want to give a web based venture a go once more, I've decided rightly or wrongly to try an adult site ... cue tons of people saying 'you'll be lucky to succeed, don't give up the day job!' etc ;)

For me, and even this might not be achievable, it's not necessarily about generating enough income to give up said day job, I suspect those that reach that level of success are few and far between, especially in today's net savvy / everyone having a go culture. However, if after a year or so I've managed to build myself a nice little sideline, perhaps generating even as little as £50-£75 per week on average, I wouldn't be disappointed. Of course anything over and above would be welcome!

The challenge for me is deciding what route to venture down. From what I've read, the ideal way to go would be new, unique, never used before content. However that comes with a degree of financial expenditure I'm not prepared to risk given I initially want to dabble, test the water etc.

I then read a lot about Tube sites and my heart sinks almost immediately. The pessimist in me thinks 'surely that's a bubble that's gonna burst and possible quite soon?' and over and above, surely it's an even harder way to generate income in an already difficult sector due to everyone and their dog trying it, no?

Then I read topics on here where people, quite rightly, eventually say to those seeking advice 'you're as well just trying 'something' to get yourself up and running, then you can hone it afterwards.' I tend to agree with this for myself and my venture. I'm already in danger of information overload which can lead to a sort of stale-mate because there's so much conflicting advice.

With all this in mind, and this is hardly unique but I'm thinking it might be best for me, this is my initial 'dabble plan' ... what do you think?

1. As best I can, settle on a niche e.g. milfs with hairy armpits and no teeth.
2. Come up with catchy and seo friendly url.
3. Register domain.
4. Buy hosting.
5. Build website using Wordpress, also use initially for CMS.
6. Launch, build content via affiliate agreements.
7. Sit back and watch the £££ / $$$ ROLL in :)

Number 7 is a joke, however that aside is there anything inherently wrong with my proposed approach to at least 'get started' in a way that's low outlay/risk?

Dave

You are damn right. Or you can steal content as many "tubers" around here. I am always amazed at the attitude : " i want to get rich but do not want to risk any money"... So go steal content or go beg on the street ( better with a starving puppy) because the 50 quid a week you are hoping for will hardly be in this biz.... And NO I am not welcoming you so :321GFY

Hi and welcome! :)

Thanks again guys and @celandina I can, to an extent, see where you're coming from i.e. are tube sites a rush to the bottom etc etc. I suppose where I'm coming from is, at least initially, I want to dabble, test the waters, further build my online skills in this area. Given the financial outlay to try something along the lines of a tube site is low, for me that's the way to go, at least initially.

Rightly or wrongly, what I'm not prepared to do for now is outlay quite a lot of cash either creating my own content and/or buying so-called unique content to start a website, maybe still to see it fail.

I'm not saying 'never' to my own and/or unique content ... just not now.

Hopefully one day you'll welcome me :)

You did not heap a scorn on me, so my advice is: get a cheap camera and hire a couple of models ( female) for a day or two and shoot some content and put it on your site. I have started with 6 videos almost 10 years ago and made money then, as well as now. You make something interesting and different for about 1000 pounds and you make 5,000, you take a 1000 from the 5 and make more etc.. etc... And if you work hard and practice your talent ( i can even advise you FOR FREE !!!) how to do it and win. The math is not so hard to figure out.

... And if you believe that these tube pirates, dating scams, cam whores or even the VR shit will make you rich... You will tell me I was right about a year from now..

And you know what I have tested your deportment.. So welcome to the forum :thumbsup

I probably shouldn't say this ... however I've started typing now ... over the years I have actually shot models, mainly standard glamour sometimes adult, however never anything outwith the norm (niche) and haven't shot for a couple of years, although I could very likely do this again ... and might at some point ;) I suppose what I'm saying is, for now, I'm happy to dabble in tubes and such like and if, a year or so down the line, this whole thing still has my attention, I might indeed start shooting my own content. And believe me, I'm under no illusion I'll get rich doing this regardless of my approach. A bonus for me would be a small monthly income being achieved a year or from now, if not I'll reevaluate my approach.

I'm in the fortunate position of not needing to depend on income generation through this, so I can play, try different things and take it from there.

Oh, and thanks for the welcome :)
