You're at the movie theater and the person in front of you starts texting. What do you do?
I just got home from Arrival (it was great btw) and the guy in front of me took his phone out every 10 minutes to read the screen, then he'd put it in his cup holder, still glowing and not turn it off. It was pissing me off.
I want to know if this bothers other people and what others would do. I counted that 5 out of the last 8 times I went to the movies someone took their phone out more than once and started texting. Is this normal now? |
When people do shit like that I'll throw one kernel of popcorn at the back of their head and wait. If they do it again I'll throw another kernel, do it a few times until they get the hint. If they say anything you say turn off your phone or I'm here to watch a movie not watch you text. I was in that situation once and it worked for me, until the old bitch got up all shaky on her walker and got management but hey I got a refund and saw most of Team America World Police for free :thumbsup.

look over their shoulder like a serial killer. say that was nice i just beat off to that :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
|
I'd shit myself making an unbearable smell and it would force the guy to move... But hey, what would I know?
i cunt a4d 2 go2 the movies anyway... :( |
Where's the "I haven't been in a movie theater in many years" button?
|
If it's a girl you tap her on the shoulder and say, "Hey cunt, I am trying to watch a movie so turn off your fucking phone or get the fuck out of the theater."
If it's a guy you tap him on the shoulder and say, "Hey you fuckin faggot...I am trying to watch a movie here...you can check your fucking Grinder account and suck a dick later or just suck mine faggot." |

Yes, im that guy LOL |
I'd tell him to turn it off, but I wouldn't be too quiet about it.
Fortunately this never seems to happen here (and I go to the movies all the time). |
Keep your nose out of his business or move.....
|
I like this commercial for the Alamo movie theater :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I just don't go to the movies ...

I hurt that motherfucker. I hurt him real bad.
|
NP. I don't do movie theaters.

If you visit Japan see a movie. You'll never go to a cinema outside Japan again.

If it's a guy my gf will wait until there's a quiet moment in the movie and say in her regular voice "that guy is looking at gay porn on his phone" if it's a chick "she's looking at dick pics"
|
Mind your business. Probably checking on kids or checking stats.

i'd move seats if there were some

Living now in Hong Kong I find it nice going to the movies. Nobody would do anything as rude as texting in a movie theater there.

maybe Hong Kong certainly not the case in Korea...and not the case at all in China |
between B and C. I would sit there but not fully tolerate, kinda hoping he would turn this off. If it's too bright I would change seats if I can.
I'm out of touch, I think my last cinema visit was about 8 years ago.. |

Don't you find it prohibitively expensive? |
If it was that often I'd tap on his shoulder and politely say " Hey, don't mean to bother you, but your phone constantly glowing in the dark is really distracting to me and my companion. If it's an emergecy I understand but if not can you please keep it off"
There's no need to be a dick about it :2 cents: If that person still continues to do it, well nothing much you can do about it since you already asked him to stop :) |

its pretty rare around these parts. i don't watch a lot of movies that bring in a lot of teens etc so that probably is part of it. If i was at a shitty horror movie it may come up a bit more. Generally someone will let them know gently that they should turn it off, rarely a big deal. we have those quick reminders telling people to turn off their phones now anyway so maybe that helps some?
Arrival was good but a fucking snore, i suggest a lot of caffeine. |
