Shrimps imported in from Vietnam are bulked up by mysterious chemical!

OMG, i've just been watching this YT footage, expressing how prawns are injected with a jelly like liquid in order to increase bulk on sales.

Now, if you didn't know, chickens are sometimes bulked up by water, thus to keep the chicken fresher & again bulking the size of the chicken. Wrong, but at least we know it's just water.

These shrimps imported in from Vietnam are injected with a gelatin & some stuff called CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose), bought in from China...

Horrific video shows prawns being injected with a jelly substance before being sold | Daily Mail Online

like, wtf, where's the freshness with these fresh prawns  :disgust

They also feed it with steroids and add truckloads of antibiotics into farming pool.

Asians are the fucking scum of the earth.

CookieMonster05 12-15-2016 09:18 AM

OMFG reallllyyyy?? Can't believe it

brassmonkey 12-15-2016 09:19 AM

idiots are eating them. rubber shrimp!! hahahahaha!!!!!!

Bladewire 12-15-2016 09:25 AM

Yeah funny how when you set frozen shrimp out to thaw it shrinks!

They put so much salt water in chicken here in California that when I cook stirfry I have to pre cook the chicken and pour out the excess water, then add it to stir fry otherwise all the liquid makes my raise runny.

All for what? For them to make more money by weight of shrimp/chicken such BS.

Funny how the gov(congress) doesn't want to pay to add more inspectors to inspect seafood that is imported.
We better get use to this and more as the republicans start gutting rules and regulations ment to keep us safe in order to add more money to the pockets of big business

Right! Better get used to more recalls of poisoned doggy treats, baby food, toothpaste, powdered milk, etc., just like under Bush.

Imagine how many jobs we could create if we were like China and inspected every shipping container coming in?

The farmed shit makes my dad break out in hives due antibiotics and poor hygiene of the pens/tanks they use. who knows what else they add due to lax regulations over there
India, Indonesia, and Thailand are the biggest shrimp exporters to the USA

I usually look for labels, that says "wild caught" not that it makes that much difference, with all the nuclear pollution that's in the oceans :2 cents:

It is not just a Asian thing. Pretty much all "farm raised" fish and shellfish are fed the steroids and antibiotics. :Oh crap

Busty2 12-15-2016 02:03 PM

Imagine if they injected the shrimp with some sort of chemical weapon. Easy way to win a war ?

NALEM 12-15-2016 03:29 PM

We can only blame ourselves, as we fail to hold the FDA and USDA accountable.

no way, i'm not to blame when I pay for a product & expect only that product! But I get what you mean...

Like said above, the problem with quality control has to be raised here!

brassmonkey 12-15-2016 04:46 PM

i found that it's a gelatin that may be toxic. get a few boxes and test them. send some government people to spy on the operation. :2 cents::2 cents:
