question to Canadien webmasters

as you know,
I fell in love with the FREE Canadien medical system,
it's liberal views on the geo-politics,
close ties with France and it's wines regions,
so we are moving to Canada for good, away from imperialistic aspirations of the US government.

quick question:
does Canadien Government pays for the funerals too, in addition to FREE medecine?

kenny 04-08-2003 09:30 AM

Its cold up there, but I can take a 18 year old out and get her drunk

Well, if that's the only thing stopping you from committing suicide, I'll be glad to pay for your funerals.

Everything is slightly cheaper in canada. I don't live there but I visit every so often.
I guess you can afford to offer free things to your citizens when you don't need a real army because you border the world super power.:winkwink:

I'd give it a serious thought....

Everything is slightly cheaper except for the taxes. That's how we can have free medicare, we pay through the nose in taxes.

NO and BTW medicine is not free. Medicare is.(sort of) You pay for your perscriptions out of pocket unless you have Blue Cross for example.
However perscribed medicines are cheaper here than is the USA. Much cheaper. Also any medical expensises like drugs, eye glasses and such are tax free.

One more thing. When I was living in Florida I needed a lot of dental work done. I got several estimates and all were over $4000.00. I waited until I moved back home and had the same work done for just a little over $1000.00.

Gary 04-08-2003 10:00 AM

Serge, our government will take care of you from cradle to grave. We pay for births, deaths, sex change operations (25K) we pay for it all because we care.

You can stay with me if you like. You bring the vodka, i'll bring the goverment checks.

Answer from my wife, who is an A&R accountant at the
Mount Pleasant Furneral Group in Toronto. (shitty job eh, spend
all calling collections on funerals)

No and Yes! Attempts are made to get the money out of the
surviving relatives all the way down to a payment plan of just
$25.00 dollars a month. If all collections avenues are exhusted,
and after some years of attempting to collect. They will remove
the marker from the grave and file with the government to
cover the costs of the casket and plot. At a future date if the
bill is settled by the surviving relatives, the marker is returned
so that they can find grandma again.

JFK 04-08-2003 10:53 AM

there is actually a bit of money you can get from the government, I believe its about $600, which dosent go a long way to covera $6000 funeral:2 cents:
