The bottom line stance that the military is taking is as follows.

Journalists have been repeatedly warned that their safety cannot be guaranteed. Being in a war zone is a danger to their health.

The rules of engagement allow for our forces to fire upon any building/position that is firing at them, no matter who may be in line of our return fire. It was stated that our forces not only have a right to return fire, but an obligation to return fire.

The US army is committing suicide on the walls of Baghdad and the Republican Guard is pushing the US further and further away from Baghdad. There are NO Americans INSIDE Baghdad.
